The trail was better before a tornado hit the area. Like most other woodsy trails this is now paved over for rollerbladers, hikers and bikers. Some of the trail is crushed rock and it connects to the bridge over 694. It is still a good place to go for a day of easy riding.

When MORC and NCMBP were negotiating with Ramsey County Parks about Battle Creek, it was made very clear that, for the time being, Battle Creek is the ONLY authorized mountain bike trail in the Ramsey County Parks system. Sheriff's officers do patrol Snail Lake and WILL ticket violators. Please help us improve mountain biking opportunities in the Twin Cities area by not riding in this or other closed areas, until we can work with the agency to reconsider their ban. The more unauthorized riding that takes place, the less likely we are to be able to do thi.

I haven't road this trail for five years, but it's where i fell in love with the feeling of having a human propelled two wheeler. I'm sure the trail has changed alot since i first started riding the area ten years ago. If it is anything like it used to be i would have to definetly recomend it to anybody in the area. It used to be five miles away from my house and i would ride it right after school everday with my friends and we had some of the best innocent times of our lives pushing are limits. There always was a new downhill to try and to perfect to an art. Now, ten years later I can't even imagine what we would've done with our freetime without riding and making new trails.

In Moundsview or NewBrighton there are some trails north of 694 and a mile west of 35w. There is a lot of exploring to do on those trails, so enjoy! It's especially fun in the winter with studded tires, but it's isn't worth the drive if you don't live close by!
