Eastwood Park - TRAIL

Eastwood Park - Trail, Rochester, Minnesota

Mostly all singletrack & a few xc ski trail sections. Typical midwest singletrack with a good mix of small climbs, rolling descents, and open meadow riding. Most of the trail is under the cover of large, mature trees.

This trail is the best riding within the city limits of Rochester, MN. The ride is a good mix of mostly single track with rolling descents, gradual climbing (some steep) and several tight corners. In some areas of the trail (older sections) there is a bit more of a flowing and open trail design, but much of the newer stuff is tighter, slower and a bit more technical (steep up and down). Overall, the trail is about a 5.5 mile loop and a good rider can complete this in about 45 minutes. Two to three laps is a pretty good workout, IMO.

A beginner rider or a young newbie (my 10 year old son) will find this trail challenging because of the constant turning and (some) sections of steep climbing. However, an experienced rider will find little technical challenge here, but it is still fun.

This riding isn't really at the level of lebanon hills (MORC) or the lacrosse areas (HPT), but it's the best of what the local Rochester scene has to offer.

The local riding club has been working on this trail network (RASC) for the last couple years, and it is really starting to show!

If you are visiting Rochester, I would ask a local shop (Rochester Cycling and Fitness) how to get here and then go to El Carambas (Mex) or John Hardy's (BBQ) for a post ride beer and grub.
