Seven Mile Creek - Trail, Mankato, Minnesota

Seven Mile Creek - Trail, Mankato, Minnesota

DESCRIPTION

It's a big, looped system of trails for mostly hikers, but a few trails are open to bikers. It's not too technical, except for a few crazy downhills, and some brutal uphills. It's a great trail for excercise, and an intermediate biker like me to hone my bikng skills and test my downhill courage. Even if it's not technical enough for you, it's still a fun ride, and very, very beautiful.

This trail is good if you don't feel like worrying about any obstacles or really anything too difficult. There is one sweet double-track descent that I really enjoy, but other than that its pretty much a novice trail, it was mainly made for hikers.....so thats probably why. Try it out if your in the area, otherwise I wouldn't make any effor to purposely drive there.

I discovered these trails this summer when I decided to buy a MTB. Well I went out the first time by myself and had an awesome time. So the next time I took a friend out and we both had so much fun. This trail is good for everyone. Myself and another experianced friend decided to race one day and we both completed the Trail 8 loop in 25 minutes. I had fun bringing my girlfriend and he brothers out there, they loved it. My nonbiker friends also like going out there because trails 4 and 5 are very easy. I recomend these trails to anyone and everyone

Either go to the enternace and ride from there or take 8 clockwise and watch out for the bigdown hill halfway through!

Mt. Kato is about the only other trail area around mankato. If you ride the Red Jacket Trail to 90 then ride to the river theres some fun trails to mess around on next to the river.

7-mile is a great workout and welcomes all abilities. It will put your endurance and climbing ability to the test. There are some technical runs, ya just gotta find 'em (wink wink). It's definately a place where you can be creative. And it is free!!

Customer Service

Take trail no. 8 "clockwise", trust me.

Overall, a pretty good trail for the area. Rolling trails are best suited for XC. Not one good DH option on the entire trail. There are some challenging climbs traction-wise (dry hardpack doesn't let too many tires bite well), but they are pretty short. Several river crossings are a choice of a bridge, or barreling through. At the end you are rewarded by a 1/4 mile descent into the parking area, ready for another round.
