Biggest trail system I have been on. Not very technical but the trail system is well maintained and you could spend the whole day there. All the trails are well marked with numbers at crossroads. There are a couple of ups and downs that are really fun. Would like to see more opportunities to get some air though. The NCT systems goes right through the trail system, great way to camp and ride into the Big M.

After picking up my new Ferrous at Trailhead Bike Shop in Ludington, this was my first stop on my way back to Canada. I didn't have a lot of time to explore the different trails. I liked what I saw. I didn't find anything really too advanced. I took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up on the outer loop which was fun, but it wasn't why I was there. It was up a hill, down a hill, nothing really too technical. For my first ride on the new bike it was fun and quick.

The trail system here is vastly enlarged and improved. Trail surface is generally singletrack and fast. The use of the area hills on the loops is very well done as one never seems to have much flat cruising. NCT connector really makes for a huge trail network. I used to live here, rode extensively throughout MI, moved to CO, and still think this is an awesome place to ride. Put this one near the top of your MI ride list.

Some really long climbs and some downhills that were pretty hairy. The day I rode there it was about 95 degrees outside so that made the ride harder than it would normally be. The only thing I really didn't like about the trail were the markings and in some areas the trail was covered in so many leaves that you weren't exatctly sure where it was. I would like to come back in cooler weather and ride more of the trail. There were many parts that I didn't even get to. If climbing is your strong point you will probably like this trail.

A little over-hyped I think. Don't get me wrong, this is a fun trail that requires some good lungs & legs, also has some very fun, lenghty downhills but if you're anywhere near this area and have limited time , ride North Country (Marilla or Udell Hills). I did think that this trail was fun until I tried the North Country trails. NO COMPARISON!

Several loops of different lengths and skill levels. Almost all single track. Very well marked with easy to follow directions and maps. Riders are able to select the type of trail to ride, flat or hills. The "Me Oh My" trail and the "Catamont" are the most difficult but are do-able by most intermediate riders. The downhill from "Daves Lookout" to the trailhead is long and fast.
The "Big Wheel" trail is short but starts off with a great, tight, fast, bumpy, downhill that goes forever. Rode by a doe and fawn, the deer fly's respect deet. Its worth the trip, easy to find.
