Pretty cool place. About 10 miles of fast, smooth, twisty, turny trail. They obviously tried to pack as much trail as they could in the place by making it twist and turn all over. It's almost all well built trail that will last. The tread is smooth and easy to ride, the challenge comes in the climbing and the occasional sandy section that will have your front wheel washing out if you're not careful. There are a few mild stunts like log overs but if I remeber right there are cheat lines around every one. There's a section with some freeride style drops and a short rollar coaster trail.

Customer Service

It's a one way trail. Exit the parking lot, go over the bridge, take a left at the base of the ski hill. Follow the tracks int othe woods where you will immediately start climbing and turning, you won't stop until you exit the woods about 10 miles later.

This trail system was totally revamped in the summer of 2005-2006. Currently there is 5.5 miles of advanced but fun single track. Equally as fun up and down, but climbing always seems longer! Many off camber sections, a lot less sand than the previous course. There is also a skills park with wicked skinnies, drops, teater totters, etc. Best place to ride in Grand Rapids. A short (-2.0 miles) road ride connects you to the Cannonsburg State Game Area. The CSGA has 7 miles of fun flow trail. The Ski area drains well after a storm, the CSGA does not. Management has asked us not to ride up or across the ski slopes due to erosion potential.
The Ski Area is closed for a few weeks in the summer due to a Pops Concert Series and its also closed during ski season, otherwise go for it!

park at the east (left) end of the lodge. Ride across the bridge and turn east at the base of the slopes. Follow tiny white and black arrows to the trails.

Good simple review from Robert R. But I must point out that, don't even think about riding during the ski season. And this is a busy venue with concerts, wedding receptions, and the like. If it looks busy, go to Robbinette's Apple House or Cannonsburg State Game.

Other wise it is fun, but short (3.5 mile or so). If it was longer it would get a 5.

Races on 2nd W.E. in April & 2nd to last W.E. in October. DH, DS, TT, & XC.

I love this trail even though it is fairly short. It's a nice change from the state game area trail and you can still get a great workout due to the hilly terain and the fact that you can climb the ski slope at the end of the trail. Bombing down that ski slope is super fast and worth the torture of climbing the hill. Ride this trail when the state game area closes for hunting season.

Customer Service

Follow the trails, you can't get too lost even though they are not clearly marked. Some of the trails loop around and dump you back at the beginning.

This trail is tough. You feel like your always going uphill except for the crazy downhills. Starts with a climb that seems like forever. This trail is great for conditioning but hard to ride for the beginner.

This is a pretty fun course, if you don't mind riding in sand. It starts with a decent climb, although everyone can ride it. Then it goes through the woods for about 2-1/2 miles of winding singletrack that is fun and not too difficult. Pretty much anyone from intermediates to experts can ride here. Then you dump out into some little whoops and hit a huge right-hand berm (fun!) before a super-fast open section of singletrack that leads you back to the ski hill. If you want to get in a good workout, I suggest turning left onto the ski hill and riding up to the summit (you'll need some really strong legs) around the top switchback and then between the gap in the fence to your left, then bomb down the hill at 30mph. Good stuff. I'll usually ride 4-5 laps, as the whole loop through the singletrack and up/down the ski hill is about 4 miles.

Customer Service

There's only one real trail, probably still marked from the races.

fun course, it is only "open" on race days but its easy to get in the summer, its a ski resort, in the summer its pretty dead around there. lots of climbing, the hill at the start is a leg burner at a race start, mmm lactic acid, riding to the the top of the ski hill is hard(need a quite strong set of legs), just a pretty fun course, id rather ride at yankee, but youve got to do long climbs somewhere. more of an intermediate to expert trail, begginers, try the state game area, youll have more fun

Not a fun place to run in my mind but great to condition. I love riding just to ride. I ride so much I happen to be a decent rider. So as far as fun its in the middle. The hills are great for a workout but I would love to see downhills to compliment the uphills that just didnt happen.

Go up the Ski Slop at least once in order to really get the workout.

I plan to ride this trail this weekend and do about 5 loops without stopping. I will take the slope at least 2 times.

Customer Service

Go up the ski slope too!!!!
