Kennedy Park - TRAIL

Kennedy Park - Trail, Lenox, Massachusetts

There are many looping trails in this system with maps posted throughout, it's hard to get lost. Lots of singletrack splitting off of fireroads. Motsly smooth, fast trails with some technical stuff. Rides can be as long or short as you like with the looped layout. Best part, these trails lead to Lenox Mountain; tight, technical singletrack climbs and descents. There are lots of nice views too.

I get the feeling people who have posted reviews aren't finding the good trails in here. I have a route GPS'd that's a lot of fun and I posted it on:

There's even more though than that. If you're in the area, maybe contact me and I'll show you around. 90% singletrack, some a bit technical.

I am not a fan of these trails at all. I mountain biked in Boston for many years and was expecting the trails here to be good because everyone said they were great. These trails are terrible. I have never been so bored on my mountain bike in my life.

Customer Service

They all seemed boring.

I had heard this trail was good from the local riders. It is clear that the local riders know very little about what a good trail is. I learned riding trails like Lynn Woods, Bruce and Toms, and Vietnam. The trails here in Lenox are wide trails with very little fun obstacles. You have to climb quite a bit, but the down hills are not very difficult or challenging. I like to ride with about a 20% chance of leaving without an injury. Not going to happen here at these trails.

Customer Service

They are all terrible.

very diverse. Some tech stuff lots of uphills , some dual track, but mostly single. cant get too lost due to excellent maps. take home maps available at the arcadian shop. all trails are rated per ski system (blue, green, black). taking outermost loop will give a very good workout. Local bike shops have regular scheduled rides.

Customer Service

any, maps throughout area allow for mutiple variations

Thanks for listing these trails. Gave it a try while spending the weekend nearby. John D Kennedy park is a lot of fun to ride. Many linked trails and a some of outstanding views. Most of the trails are short but, the many good uphills makes this a great roller coaster workout.

We spent 2 hours and did most of the trails within the park. No doubt the connections to Lenox Mtn. provide many more great trails.

Riding down to the Reservoir Road entrance we found a trail that I don't believe is on the map or if it is then it is the northern perimeter trail from east to west. Wow!!! Kudos to the builder of this excellent log run. A very well constructed trail with I would guess over 30 logs from 6 to 15" sometimes set in series. East to West is mostly up hill and combined with all the logs makes a great working climb.

Customer Service

Perimeter Log run from Reservoir Road.

Great place to ride. Fun, fast paced, smooth, mostly rolling singletrack. If your looking for tech stuff, you might want to try else where.
Well marked and mapped. One could spend a couple hours here easy. Great look out spots scattered thru out park. Multiple trailhead locations. Can also continue up to Lenox Mtn. Worthy riding.

Customer Service

It's all a blast.

Difficult, single track over lots of logs, old stone boundary walls, switchbacks. Recommended for advanced intermediate/expert. Lots of uphills (be prepared). It's not called "broken thumb" for nothing.

Customer Service

Take main trail out of kennedy park to Resevoir Road. Continue up Resevior Road (steep paved road) until you come to a jeep trail on your left-with bar in front. (about 3 miles). Take left onto jeep trail, follow up to the top (steep techinical climb). Look for awesome single track all the way back into the park (fairly obvious).

Similar Products Used: Unlike some responses-October mountain is an awesome playland, if you know where to look. Ride around and ask some hard cores for "Good places to ride". Very technical in some areas. You're in the Beserkshires, so always be prepared for tough uphills.

I was visiting my brother and wanted to ride, so he took me here. This place is a blast with lots of short steep uphills and fun twisting downhills. Some good technical problems - wet logs, rocks and roots etc. I'm used to all the above, but not when they're wet.
We rode for hours and I'm glad he took me here.

This place is for intermediate to expert riders.

You can make a smooth short beginner loop or longer, tougher rides with singletrack. Lots of trails to explore, watch out for hikers as this place can be busy.

Customer Service

Make a loop.
