Ashland State Park - Trail, Ashland, Massachusetts

Ashland State Park - Trail, Ashland, Massachusetts

DESCRIPTION

If you live in Ashland and don't mind a few bumps in your single track you need to check it out. Stay within sight of the water all the way around. Decent single track all the way around with some nice bridges to jump onto and over. Short but sweet. Ride it fast and furious. For longer more serious riding check out Vietnam or F. Gilbert (see reviews).

Not really feeling the below reviews; if you get to Ashland, keep the water on your left and it's several miles of rooty, rocky, technical riding that will challenge your legs and technical bike handling ability. Not much smooth - small rock gardens and short, rooty climbs/ descents mar the entire ride. I go here for a workout and I get it.

Customer Service

Park anywhere in ride in; go counter-clockwise around the reservoir, keeping the water to your left, until you're back where you began.

I went here because good things were said about it on NEMBA.org. Most places I have ridden that I heard about on NEMBA.org have been great. NEMBA does a great job of maintaining and signing the trails their name is attached to. This area was the exception. There were no signs, I spent the first half hour following dead end trails. Once I did find the trails they were beat up, rutted, over grown and destroyed by dirt bikes or the trails were interupted by nearby condo contruction. There were a couple short sections of tricky, tight singletrack. But it was overall a disapointment

Customer Service

Who knows, there arent any signs

This place may of been cool when your like 10 years old but now it just sucks. Its all single track and fire road full of tree roots and boulders. Its boring and theres not much potential. I live literally 2 mins away and it was alright to be able to get out and take a quick ride but now it just sucks and isnt worth it.

Customer Service

If you must, you can park at the public boat ramp on Spring Street and is your best bet.

might seem like fun when your 12 years old but its just a big circle around the lake. just a short (3.5 miles) mostly single track with lots of roots and rocks. not very challenging, I used to ride here a few days a week cause I live 2 mins away but have grown annoyed and bored

Customer Service

you can go clockwise or counter clockwise

This little trail is pretty cool. Lots of roots and rocks but you can still fly.

Customer Service

Park at the Northeastern tennis courts and head right for the woods.

this trail is not very challenging and there isnt much in the way of technical riding. that and it is annoyingly short. But if you only have about 1/2 hr. to an hour, this provides a nice place to take a quick ride on easy trails. If you want to do serious riding on technically challenging terrain I wouldnt reccomend this trail, instead you would be better off going to vietnam in Milford.

Customer Service

just follow the trail around the lake

A non-technical trail, but does have some nice hills. Not that busy, mostly you will see other people walking their dogs - so watch where your tires go! This is a nice way to spend an hour of your time, but not as hard core as vietnam.

Customer Service

Start at the main parking area where are the people fishing are. I usually start by going to the right, all the way around.

You go around a resevoir, boring. It's basically a waste of time. Any trail off of this trail that looks like it might be going some where is not.

Customer Service

If this place was in my back yard I might screw around here but it's hardly worth the drive.

Its got great singletrack with roots rocks and other obstacles. Riding the dam is pretty fun.

Customer Service

If you live in the surrounding towns a couple of miles down the road is worth it.
