Lots of interesting singletracks the locals have brushed out a number of old trails and now there's enough mileage here for a full day's ride.

Customer Service

Cross the dam and take a hard left after the big rock. You'll find a maze of interesting singletracks starting there.

Looking for a ride for your kids? Stay on the main roads.

I think every one should try this place one more time. I have been working with the rangers to develope a new and larger trail system. Most of the riders who have been here have never discovered the good trails and if you haven't been here in over a year you haven't seen all the trails. Mostly rocky but I do a beginner ride on Sunday Mornings @ nine. look me up, malcride@yahoo.com

Customer Service

You can get there from route 18 in Abington. trail routes are soon to be marked but the locals are you best tour guides.

good all round riding, lots of rocks, some puddles here and there and a few short technical trails and long trails that are easy to miss, (keep your eyes poen for people walking and BRING BUG SPRAY YOU WILL NEED IT !!!!!)

Customer Service

don't just stick on the main paths, cross the dam and once you get to the Y in the path after the big boulder stay to the left, ride it untill you see a gate leading out to the powerlines (verry sandy so walking your bike is recomended) once in the power lines head right go to the top of the hill and look to your left their's about 5 - 6 more miles of trails out there, it is still part of the park but verry few people know about it,

great ride... brutal in the winter, due to martian outcroppings of mismatched rock fields. great lake to ride around, One third the way in on a single track there is a massive rock that is bar none the best pond jumping area around nasty!!!! peer around corners as there tend to be a few stragglers here and there

used to be home trail. If you stay on main trail you can rip around the loop in 45mins. cross the street at power lines and enter trail at the left to add another loop. Expect cuts and bruises. Lots of nasty glacier rocks. Your arms will be more tired than your legs as you pop your bike over things. Want a 1 hour workout that feels like 2? Try it. Hook up with locals, easy to get lost. Paul @ Les Bowles Cycles on 123 is the man. They do weekend rides.

Customer Service

Take rght on 139 not 123......Stay close to the pond all the way around. At one point trail ends. ride to power lines and trail begins again where the power line path stops at the pond.

Ames Nowell is a nice place to ride if you want a short technical ride. Most of the trails have a lot of rocks.

Customer Service

After you've ridden the trails on the East side of the lake near the ranger station go across the dam and follow the main trail out to the powerline.
Then either cross the powerline or go up the hill on your right. In either case enter the woods and you will discover about 6 miles of mostly technical singletrack.

Pretty easy for the most part. Not a big place. you can go outside the park to powerlines if desired. Watch out for walkers.

Customer Service

No recommended way, just a good ride

Try to find someone who knows the park(like me) its hard to find the good stuff. Bring your tool kit and expect to get a little roughed up. If you like short technical rides, this place is for you.

I road there alot when I bought my first bike. I thought it was pretty tuff at first but, I really don't know where the technical stuff is. I found some stuff outside the park by way of the power lines. If you live close it is o.k. but, don't make a special trip.

I've been riding Ames Nowell State Park since '97! Great Ride in a short time. Too bad they built a new dam and made the crossing easier. Good amount of rocks
