Arundel High - TRAIL

Arundel High - Trail, Odenton, Maryland

Singletrack, plenty of climbs and fast descents. Most of the ground is hardpack; it makes for great riding conditions most of the time. You can cross a small stream as well and ride on the other side of it, although some of the trails over there could use some maintenance.

Plenty of variety for everyone. Fire roads, singletrack, good climbs, fast downhills, drop-offs, creek crossings, man-made obstacles... something for everyone, beginner, intermediate or expert!!! Not usually very muddy, either!

Customer Service

Enter the woods behind the ball fields at multiple entrances... and you're in! There's a multitude of inter-connecting trails so be carefull not to lose your bearing... but the good news is, it's not so big you'd be lost for long!

If you are in or around Odenton, this is a good set of trails. I went there for the first time and found a good selection of single track and fast downhills. Nothing too technical but trails don't appear to be maintained so take time to explore before bombing downhill. I did come across some fallen trees. Some of which were crossable but others could definitely ruin your day if you are not expecting them.

Customer Service

Any route, any way. I made loops, criss-crossed, and back-tracked. Only came across 3 other bikers on a Saturday afternoon.

you can start at waugh chapel elementary school on waugh chapel road, or at arundel middle school, or on dairy farm road, also there is a short trail at the school of the incarnation on waugh chapel road which take you to a power line field which are fun and then that will eventually take you to a trail through the woods near the dairy farm, youll cross dairy farm road then your pretty much there!

Great intermediate trail or for beginners who have mastered their easier course. Start with Rockburn then move up to this. Great practice for Avalon or Loch Raven.

This system has some nice fast sections. A few sections are a little technical but overall a great place for riders of all skill levels.

Its a good beginner trail to learn on. It gets fast and there are some challenging sections (mostly climbs). Don't be afraid to try every trail because you will eventually find your way back to the parking lot. You won't take longer than a couple of hours to ride every piece of this trail. It doesn't get crowded on the weekends. I wouldn't recommend riding after school is out during the week because its right next to the high school. Overall, it a good, easy ride.

A small but challenging ride. Short, steep climbs as well as short bombing descents. Crisscrossing all the trails, you can get in a great training ride of at least an hour. Also a good introduction to MTB'ing. Some wash out due to ATV use.

Park at the basketball courts behind the Middle School. Look directly at the woods. All along the woods-line are trails going in.

This system of mostly singletrack trails are excellent for the average moutain bike cross country rider who wants some challenge. These many trails have awesome switchbacks, hills, and tight turns for technical riders. Its a great place to practice.

I'm going to post a revision: that the amount of trail here is closer to one hour of riding, not two. Nevertheless, it makes for a fun afternoon ride of mostly singletrack, but some doubletrack as well.
