All Trails - Trail, Flintstone, Maryland

DESCRIPTION

This place is BIG. All the trails are very hilly, pretty fast, little rocky, some very, very steep, some kinda easy, most are fast double track, long climbs, extreme riding, but very very fun. Please get a trail map, unless you ride there every single day.

This is a rough place to ride. Not that its that tough just that its:

a) hard to find
b) as stimulating as a trip to mall with your better half
c) trails are wide and when tight poorly marked.

Customer Service

Call Adventure sports in frostburg and get directions and anything else you need. These might be the nicest guys on the planet!

not really much in western MD to ride. Not enough bikers to maintain trails or form new ones. The really good stuff is on farm land and you will have to know someone

The ride starts at a "bikers camping" area. The prefered route starts from there making a left onto the hard surface road and then a left on a dirt forrest service road in about 1/8 mile. It's a fast 1 1/2 miles down hill to a sharp right onto short steep single track. The trails are well marked with small "bike route" signs and continue mainly on single track with a bit more jeep road thrown in. Several stream crossings and some tight turns keep it interesting. And, if you like some mud, you'll find a couple short sections of that as well. Strong riders will be able to do this course in under 2 hrs., intermediates in about 2 1/2 hrs., and beginers 3 hrs.

Very fun trail that is mostly singletrack and mostly well marked. the trail has been realigned since the trail map and directions were printed with most of the road sections eliminated and replaced with singletrack parralel to the dirt road. I would recommend riding in the direction recommended on the cue sheet. The trail crosses dirt roads often with signs pointing the easy way back to the parking area if you need to bail.

Customer Service

follow trail map available at Greenridge State Park headquarters off of I-68. When parked in the bikers camping area head out the back of the area on double track then take a right when you get to the first trail marker.

Only been here twice. Rode the race route, haven't been since the new MTB specific loop was built; heard it's tight tho. Real hilly stuff, but mostly jeep roads unless you find the hidden race loop stuff like I did or ride the MTB loop. Real MTB friendly place, better for fit riders. Cough up a lung.

Customer Service

Do the race route or the new mountain bike route.
