Essex Woods - Trail, Bangor, Maine

Essex Woods - Trail, Bangor, Maine

DESCRIPTION

Your basic 'power lines in the middle of the woods' type of riding. The woods on each side of the power lines are technical singletrack. Moderate hills and some fast winding downhills. Very fun. Never crowded.

If you know your way around good enough you can go on this trail and hook on to the bangor city forest/ bangor land trust trails, these are some pretty good trails for both xc riders and single track enthusist.

Sweet stuff, but not epic. It's a small area that you can probably cover all it has to offer in less than an hour, but if you want to do laps then it's fine. The trails are really fun, there is just not that many of them. But given the fact that you are either going down hill or up hill, it does make for a great work out. I give it a 3 for not having a huge amount of trails.

Go to Essex st and turn where it says essex woods.

Well, I used to ride there a lot before moving from Maine. This place is great, easily accesible from the middle of the city, and technical as hell. It's a great race course, but if you are looking for somewhere where you can get an epic ride in, this is the wrong place. For fast laps around the race course, and for cross country races it is the place to be.

all types of single track, cant get lost....all trails lead to houses, accses roads, or roads

Customer Service

from bangor mall take stillwater to the intersection on stillwater and essex st then take a rirgh. Take essex st for 2 miles or so and you should come to the end of the hills and there should be a church on your right...before you get to the church there is a st. take that and you will be on your way.

Some trails are more technical than anyone would suspect in the Bangor area, there aren't any serious drops or gaps, but there is some serious wood riding in case anyone is looking to make love with a tree.

Customer Service

Anywhere where serious technicality is supplied. It's great to know the people that work there so you can hang with some domino's pizza and torque the slolemn.

Towards Indian Hill in Brewer there are some nice trails, a little easier, so I'd stick to Essex Street.

The trails are loaded with trees rocks and other objects that you have to clear. The trails are a blast. Even better if yo go on the group ride with ski rack. This is fun fast and technical, great stuff and i love it.

Customer Service

You go up to ski rack dump off the truck or car go up towards the homedepo and get on stillwater ave and go up towards orono. as yo are riding down the road you will see a trail that heads over in to a ditch-enter there follow the trails and have fun.
