You can do a Kamakasi Downhill here that is the longest downhill in the area, 1.6mi. on gravel road, if you have someone to shuttle you back to the top, you can take turns and time youself FUN. Just be sure to have someone at the bottom of the hill to warn any rare traffic going up.
The other rides here are mostly out and back on logging roads the second road on the way up, the right one, is pretty good and splits about 2 mile out, the 1st road , on the left has more of a place to park but can get a little muddy after wet weather
at the second or third hard right curve look for a old trail on the right that is legal but over grown if you want to "wildcat" back to morehead city park.
Have fun and explore maybe you'll find some loop I haven't found yet? Just be aware you can connect to private property and maybe illegal? 4whlr trails.

from west end of morehead take 519s 1.3miles
to 1167 on the left after about a mile look for Tower Hill road turnoff on the left. The main gravel road is 1.6 miles uphill there is a parking area at the top BEFORE you reach the towersites you can park there and you won't be in anybody's way; but this area is more suited to those in the Morehead/Clearfield area that are looking for different ground to ride rather than something to make a special trip for.

the 4wlr trail on the the first and only right logging road (with gate) is out((1.5mi.) just past a spring (good water just filter it) this leads to a power line rite of way and down to an old railroad bed but it is a long way back up or loop back on the pavement? so don't go down? The out and back logging roads can be connected using this trail. explore and occassionally do responsible trail maintainence wherever you ride. Move a small log, pack out some trash, a little every ride will make a difference.

Customer Service

o.k. F.S. says that anywhere you want to ride(or hike or horseback) in (this district) is o.k. so any existing 4whlr trails are fair game but do the sport a favor and dont short cut swithbacks ec t. so, the trails at Triangle tower area are legal in that since, use em or lose em they will become grown up in a few years.

the old railroad bed has been cleared of trees but the 4wlr path is so steep down the pwr line path that you cannot ride down it very easily it has washed out and someone has made a path to the left of it be carful! if you go down you won't want to go back up. A loop including pavement: park at the Clearfield P.o and ride to 1167 to Twr hill road, then ride all the logging roads you want, take the 4wlr trail to the railroad bed to the city park(stay on gravel farm road along side of hill(take second left to city park) to bypass to 519 to P.O.; At the end of the left fork of the right logging road you can also go through the woods to a hunting cabin about 300yards around the cliff after the path ends and a 4whlr path takes you out to a side road and back to 1167 almost at the head of dry creek. Might be a way to come out on Weaver ridge somehow?

Customer Service

4whlr path connects both gated logging roads and to a pwr line path very steep to old railroad bed back to city park et c.

this area could be as good as Butler, and no fee!
there are enuff loop possibilities and event
possibilities here for a Mtb day for all skill levels
as part of a festival or on it's own could be connected to town or not; but outside city limits for insurance purposes city would not cover it
NORBA might, a expert loop could start in town
at the city park, for spectators there are
lots of pull offs and parking possiblities.
The gates have been opened during hunting seasons
sometimes that Ive seen in the past.
