The route described is the short route. You can also ride north on 100 and add more gravel climbs. You can go farther south than the 88 turnout and do a much longer ride to Dog Slaughter Falls on 100, and ride back on gravel.

In the past 4 years, all of these routes suffered with fallen trees on 100. These have since been cleared, but the route has become more technical as drainage patterns changed during this time. In wet conditions, the rocks are slippery.

Take time to hike to the rock overhangs. They have saved my bacon during torrential rains. Respect campers at the shelter areas.

This network of trails are challenging for the weekend warrior. If you like the moderate technical challenges of Devil's Creek, you might enjoy riding the Sheltowee ( trail 100) from KY 192 north.

From 192, there are a network of trails that can take you west to Bee Rock Campground, north to Hwy 80 or even to points east. Van Hook Falls is a great place to explore the base of and the dropoff of a 30 ft waterfall.
