I was up from Alabama so I decided to ride this trail and loved it. Its in an old growth boy scout camp with some amazing huge trees. I love riding in thick woods. The trail has several options so I rode all of them. It is fast and flowing. There is no hills just rollers. The trail has been marked but it looks like someone has torn some of the markers down so if you just stay to the right you should be fine. Fun trail and very cool area by the lake.

A great trail given the amount of flat area in Indiana. Everything written about this trail so far is pretty accurate. The trail designers add several features every year, and the trail is well-maintained. This year, they've added an extra loop on to the end of Wagoner's Trail. This new part is the tightest & most technical piece on the trail. On the rest of it, you can pretty well pin your ears back and ride it hard. Watch out for sandy spots as the summer progresses.

Customer Service

From the parking lot at the end of Boys Club Drive, enter the park via the asphalt trail. After crossing the bridge, turn right. Go past the water fountain. After about a tenth of a mile or so, the off-road trail will appear on the left. Follow the red, yellow, and green arrows from there. Watch out for the occasional trail runner and riders riding the course in reverse on the days leading up to the off-road races that happen a couple times per season.

I have heard many good things about Winona Lake, so I was anxious to check it out. It is easy to see why people like this trail. Some tough, technical sections, tight wooded sections, open fields, and fast runs-this trail has it all!
PROS: Offers something for just about everyone, well maintained, family friendly(that is, there are also non-mtb activities available-shops, paved paths, a beach, etc.), flows nicely.
CONS: A few confusing spots(looks like someone vandalized a few of the markers), busy(I am all for people getting out and riding, but there were a number of people with no clue about trail etiquette. One slow, blue jean wearing group wouldn't let me pass and I nearly got ran over by someone who was riding the trail backwards and flying down one of the bigger hills), a few of the downhills have gotten pretty rutted up.
OVERALL: It's a bit out of the way, but worth the trip! A couple of spots on the main trail are a bit tricky for novices, but the toughest(red) sections can be bypassed.

Customer Service

Remember the red arrows are the difficult sections. However, it's worth stopping to take a look at them. Some of them are pretty tricky, but a few of them are fairly beginner friendly.

When riding this trail it's not a fasion show. So for all you riders that think your SHIIT dont stink get a clue. Ive ridden this trail since 1994 when it was mostly deer trails and foot paths and before most of you yuppies even thought it was cool to ride. I've seen way to many people stick there nose in the air and pass me by with out saying anything since I didnt have a $2,000 bike and didnt spend $500 on my riding gear. Were all there to have a good time so DONT bring your negitive energy here. They have added a new parking area at the trail head and a lot of new trail. This is the best of what Northern Indiana has to offer. Pack Out What You Pack In

Wow! If you like wooded single track, this is Heaven! I rode this for the first time today after hearing a lot of good things about it. This is the funnest piece of trail I have been on. Very well maintained. Aerobic Difficulty Rating... Well, the faster you ride, the better the work out. Technical Difficulty Rating... Enough to keep you on your toes in the "Red" sections.

Customer Service

Hit all the "RED" arrow sections, especially "Black and Blue"... Then change your shorts....

I rode this trail for the first time this summer and by far it is the best trail I have ridden in Indiana. Not a lot of climbing. However, the layout and the optional jumps make this trail a lot of fun. This is a trail that is worth a 2 hour drive from Indy. I can't wait to go back. Some trail are very technical, but for the most part the trails are intermediate level single track.

Customer Service

On the trail, on my bike.

Excellent network of trails, mostly well-marked. Fun stuff for all abilities. Be sure to do the creek crossing on the Southtown Loop. Lots of development has taken place here...a very thorough web of trails. Be sure to bring your bug spray. The trails get lots of use, but you still feel like you have the place to yourself. I met a few other people, and despite the occasionally fancy bikes and accessories, everyone was very friendly with no attitude. Just remember -- this is private property...it is an honor and a privelege to be able to ride here. Be kind to it.

Customer Service

I'm a beginner, so I stuck to the yellow and green trails (as explained on the large map at the entrance). Do the creek crossing on the Southtown Loop. Lots of wooden bridges to zip across too.

Since this is my local trail I ride it a couple of times a week. There is a full range of difficulty levels on this trail depending which trails you take. On the east side of the creek if your following the arrows clockwise you'll come across a side trail labled CAUTION, this is a great difficult level trail. Also on the east side if you can find it (kinda hard to tell you how to get to it) there is pretty sweet ramp that launches your over a small ravine. There are lots of trails to explore. But always be aware that not everyone follows the arrows so head on traffic is a problem. All in all this a large area with lots of trails to explore.

Note: also watch out for deer I've almost literally ran into some on the trails.

The first couple times out it is confussing. But after being showed arround it can be very fun and challenging. Fast single track, fun short down hills, water crossing, jump, and look out for the suspended bridge -- its really slick when wet!!

The only trails I have ever ridden, but it is diverse in terrain and a challenge for even the experienced riders. I ride more than once a week. This location has great things coming. Much effort is being made to convert it into an official park. The city of Winona Lake has gone through a massive facelift and this would be icing on the cake. A special maintenance day is being planned to do work about the trail and its border and entrance. Roots and stumps and rocks and logs are very prevalant here, so your bike and your skills will be tested. This trail, to say the least, is a sleeper. If you have any interest in the maintanace day or want directions, e-mail me at ajagger@hotmail.com
