This trail system has changed tremendously in the last three years. Gone are the badly eroded fall line sections, replaced with sweet flowing contour trails. Thanks to a grant from Lowe's and a lot of hard work by local trailbuilders there are now 10 miles of trails at Muscatatuck.
There is a 4 mile beginner trail that circles the upper public use areas and has great flow. There is an 3.5 mile outer loop that is intermediate level and features great views of the Muscatatuck River, some short steep climbs, and constant ravine runs.
The section across the road has been significantly lengthened and is considered more advanced. It's got great berms to rail and some decently long downhill runs. There's also a connector trail that runs from the creek crossing north to a city street. It follows the creek the whole way and has non-poisonous ivy covering a lot of the hillsides.
Overall the flow has been much improved, and there are many more options for ride routes. Worth checking out, and Versailles State Park is only a half hour east, for an additional 14 miles of sweet flowing, new trails.

Quite the enjoyable trail. It doesn't seem like it gets ridden very much. We didn't see many people out on a nice weekend. The trails themselves are fast and have a few climbs. They have some obstacles that you can simply bypass if you aren't comfortable. It's fairly short and I rode it twice. The quicker you go, the more fun it is, but just make sure to watch for a misdirection.

Pretty much one route.

This trail system is one of the better single tracks in the area dispite only being a touch over 6 miles with the short track.
Great for the weekend warriors passing through and someone who wants a quick challenge. The upper section is not quite as difficult as the lower section as it has a series of switch backs, rock beds 1000 yard climbs over bumpy fire roads and log skinnies over small gaps to deal with. Short track is 1.2 miles, very fast and perfect for the begining rider with little experience. Give Muskatatuck a try if you are in the area.

Customer Service

Short track for newbies, make sure to stay on the right side of the drive in for the short track, directly behind the soccor fields. Lower area for Season Vets, stay to the left of the drive and follow path past the small pond.

Can't speak much about the XC trails here. We were at this course for the downhill event. There are two courses. Both have flat fast upper areas. Easier course has long steep downhill with two small 1ft drops with a rocky finish. The more technical course has a very rooty and rocky mid-section with technical rocky final descent. To see first person video footage as well as some picturse of the course go to http://www.sicklines.com and go under the courses section.

I wrote a summary of this trail about a year ago, and now that I live in the area I am writing another one. This is a pretty good trail. An epic ride..no, but it is a lot of fun to ride. It is a short loop, but has many options. It will get your lungs pumping as well. I use it to train for much longer epic rides. We do not have a lot around here, so this is the best. It is well maintained, and although many other reviews state that it isn't marked well, it is. Just look at the diamonds on the trees. If you're around you should attend the DINO race the first weekend of July.

Customer Service

Just get on it anywhere you see it, you will not be disappointed.

Not recommeneded: The park is small and the trails are poorly marked making for a frustrating ride. As other reviews have stated there are a lot of steep down hills that end a a sharp V ravine Requiring the rider to dismount. During the fall/winter homes and other structure are clearly visible through the leafless trees making it feel like you are riding in someones back yard.

I have only ridden this trail once but had a blast. I am originally from the area but picked up biking after moving. I am used to rides that have a hard ass climb for a sweet ass downhill and this was something different. A nice technical single trail with many options. It feels a lot longer than what it really is and the good thing is since it is a loop you can do it over and over again. I recommend it for anyone who is coming thrugh the area. I will ride it next time I am home for sure.

In reply to previous review, apparently they missed the majority of the trail, if they spent their time back by the campgrounds! The trail runs the perimeter of the park. All single track, trails are well maintained although they could use signage. Overall its a really good time!!

I think this trail is pretty weak. All it really is down from the campground then back up to the campground. With heinuous V-ditches at the bottoms of the hills. So bad I broke my frame from hitting the V-ditch too fast. Just a few good tight twisty sections. It is singletrack so it has that at least.

Customer Service

Just drive to the back near the campground you will see where to go. Needs better signage and maps.
