Trail system is awesome to include two local dogs who ran a 7 mile loop with us. Owner/groundskeeper stated that he had just returned from a month abroad and hadn't had the chance to remove leaves from the trail. There were a ton of leaves and pine needles but everything was so well marked, there were no issues with knowing where the course was going. With having received T-storms the day and night before, the trails were still in pretty good shape and all but a couple of sections could be ridden. There's a lot to do and there's definitely enough to warrant spending an entire weekend camping or cabin'ing on location.

Customer Service

Ring the bell or find the owner and he'll take the time to highlight a recommended course for you. We did a 7 mile loop to include the Rollercoaster, Cruiser, Pine Ridge, Lake Ridge, and some other points I can't remember.

These trails are great, many miles to put in on a single day. I stayed at the camp site and was able to ride the trails from my front door. There is a good mix of beginner to advanced trails which are well marked and the provided map is not too bad. There are some good climbs and fun down hill drops, some slow and others long and fast.

My wife and I are in our late 40's and infrequent riders, yet this spread was excellent, scenic, and well-marked. An added bonus was the escort service provided by two dogs who followed us (and led my wife to me when we inadvertantly became separated) the entire 12 mile route. There were portions that were simply beyond our capabilities, but only for a quarter mile or so. Recommended for old farts in decent shape.

This place has some of the best mid-west riding available. Excellent technical challenges for even the best riders and routes for the beginners as well. It takes days to really learn the place there are so many great trails. The wilderness is beutiful, you can even take a dive into one of the small lakes. The host is very biker friendly and open to all riders.

Customer Service

Choose your own adventure.... can't really go wrong here, some are much harder than others.

First of all the Bartels Family are courteous and informative hosts. This place is so different than any other venue in the state in that riding there is a Mt. Bike Safari. There are well over 50 miles of trails. Anna, age ten, and I have raced the deer many times. These are trails that actually go somewhere. Yes you have to climb some, but it is good for you; you also get to ride the wind on the downhills. Take a friend or two, it is a big place.

Customer Service

It takes at least three days to learn the place with it's many and various types of trails. The beginner or new comer should climb sunset ridge, find Homestead and ride this from end to end checking out where the various trails leave and join Homestead. Later do the same thing with Copperhead Ridge, the main fireroad on the next ridge over. Beginners can climb the first hill, ride Roller Coaster, Cruiser, Pine Loop and Homestead without having to do another serious climb. Take your time to learn this Big Park and it is worth it. And it gets better every year.

I rode 14 miles of the expert trails and they were the best I've ever ridden. Climbs were long and hard and the down hills made it worth the climb. Great

Customer Service

Longest hardest. Go with the mapped out expert loop.

These trails are great. If you like good, tough mountain biking, this is the place. I went there for the first time 2 weeks ago and have been back 2 times since. I started going to Nebo and Valley Branch blows it away. This place is what mountain biking is supposed to be like.

Customer Service

Do the black diamond route, but skip "Wipe Out". A few sections like this are brand new and tough to ride, so stay on the recommended black diamond route.

Go to Valley Branch. Nebo is a good out and back, but not technical at all.

I brought my family camping for the weekend and fell in love with the place. There are trails for everyone from begginner to expert and they were all marked and mapped out well. There are alot of technical areas and uphill climbs but the downhills make up for it. I suggest you sit down and highlight the route you want to take on the map so you know what to expect before you get up there. Happy trails

This place has the whole package. From the scenic, large, and quiet campsites to the plethora of trails, Valley Branch is worth making into a weekend. The dinoseries.com race course is a lot of fun if you can find it. Do your self a favor and ride the race course two or three times to get a feel for it. There are sections that flow really well if you take the correct lines- (the reviewer that says the fast sections are full of roots is a spending too much money on his bike and not enough time in the saddle working on his skills). An even mix of technical riding, a shallow creek crossing, 1000 feet of elevation change (climbing), and scenery.

Customer Service

Do a DINO race there or head to the far side of the paintball area and begin with a climb- follow the map (good luck) and do the sweet long descents and fun creek crossing. There is one surprising section- be very careful when you see endo-city and slow down briefly as this is a curve-ball on the otherwise predictable course.

This is a definite must ride!! These trails range anywhere from beginners trails to advanced trails. I think that it would be better if there were more single-track routes, although the downhills were very cool. These trails also have showers available, camping onsite and paintball games. These trails would have received a full five star rating if it weren't for the lack of single-track routes.

Customer Service

This was the first time that I had ridden this trail and there were too many different routes to recommend one route. I enjoyed riding on Heaven's Gate and the Wild Irishman.

I would recommend trying Gnawbone Camp and Kneebow Ridge in Story, Indiana.
