THIS IS AN AWESOME TRAIL. IT IS TAXING ON THE BODY FOR THOSE OF US THAT DO NOT GET TO RIDE ON A MORE REGULAR BASIS. THERE ARE 2 ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE RESOLVED ON THIS TRAIL. THERE IS SOME BRANCHES THAT YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET SMACKED BY AT THE BOTTOM OF A HILL. A HILL THAT GOES RIGHT BACK UP. THEN ABOUT A MILE OR SO FROM THE END THERE IS A FEW TREES DOWN WHERE YOU HAVE BO CHOICE BUT TO CARRY YOUR BIKE DOWN THROUGH BRUSH TO GET AROUND AND BACK ON THE TRAIL. SO ANYONE THAT CAN CUT THOSE DOWN WOULD MAKE THIS TRAIL CLEARED ALL THE WAY.

This is a fast comparatively easy trail about 8.5 miles long. It is basically an out and back, but you can continue to the larger Hickory Ridge trail complex by riding a mile or two on dirt roads. There seems to be a great deal of confusion about the naming of these trails. Some people think this trail is also known as the Knobstone trail. It isn't. The Knobstone trail is a large trail complex dozens of miles away located near Salem Indiana. I think this is a good all around trail. A little climbing, a few mild technical sections and very fast. The location is pretty remote, with few services nearby. Although not as bad as Hickory Ridge, horses have pulverized some low points into mud bogs. There are some downed trees this year that haven't been cleared. You are required to purchase a trail pass to use this and other Hoosier National Forest trails. They are $3 and the nearest place to get one is Crouch's Market in Pikes Peak several miles away. You will be fined $20 if you are caught without one.

Customer Service

The route is pretty linear, although there are some side trails worth checking out.

This is quite simply one of the fastest trails that I have ridden. If you are looking for a technical ride go elsewhere. On the other hand, If you are looking for a two to three hour ride during which you cover nearly 20 miles this is for you. When I rode it there were two log jumps, both easy. The rest consists of ups and downs with some climbs long enough to really get your blood pumping (especially the first). If it is warm be sure to bring your bug repellent as whenn you stop the woods are literally buzzing with flies. The key is to go fast enough to drop them.

Customer Service

Start at either end and go to the other. It is not a loop.

This is a pretty good ride. Reserve a day for it though. It is in the middle if nowhere. The initial climb is a great warm up, and the rest is pure fun. Take a break at the turn around and converse with the other bikers, one will be along shortly. It sometimes isn't very well maintained which is disappointing for a pay ride, trees down and all, but is still worth the trip. The ending is the best, test your bikes suspension and have fun. Once your ride is finished, drop by the Story Inn for some homemade beer and good food....best way to end a great ride.

Not what I expected for some reason. Beautiful trail ridden on a beautiful day, fast and hilly. What surprized me was the lack of technical challenges, no tight track, no log piles etc. Good time with lots of speed.

Nebo Ridge trail is not the most difficult trail you will find, but it is a lot of fun. Lots of roots and small stumps line the trail. Lots of ups and downs, with a few technical places. Nice trail for beginners to experts. It is an out and back trail, so on busy days (Saturdays and Sunday afternoons) watch out for other riders. Hikers and Horseback riders use this trail also.

Customer Service

Start at the trailhead, go out and back. Get a map and locate the Water Bar Trail which branches off the main trail. Take this route when heading back. Lots of whoops, and some nice technical stuff, too.

Great trail !! Fair amount of climbing at the start but once your on the ridge its fast and fairly easy. Its out and back so watch out for horses and other riders. Get a trail pass for $3.00 before you go at one of the local stores. (in nashville). $20.00 dollar fine without it.

Customer Service

I-65 to SR46 to 135 south. At Story go straight onto the gravel road. Couple of miles to trail head on the left with plenty of parking

One of my all time favorites. Without a doubt worth the 2 hour trip from my house to ride there. Can basically be ridin in the big ring, which means lots of speed. On weekdays the trail is basically empty but on weekends it does get a little crowded. If you get your trail pass at Crouchs market they have pretty good sandwiches also.

What a nicely done trail. Savor it guys, and don't whine about the 3 dollar trail pass. Its the least we could do for a lung burning, wind-sucker of a climb right from the start, and a sick, hang-on-tight-to-the-riserbars descent from the top of the ridge. Can you say "I think I just pissed myself?"

Trail was in great shape considering much rain. No standing water and dust free. Excellent crusers and moderate climbs. Quick 1 mi. climb and then moderate climb for another 1 mi.or so. It is a ride out & back so remember that when you get the quick burn; the way home is "sit back" and let 'em rip! If you ride before 9:00 am, get a pass the day before. It is worth the three bucks! Enjoy!

Customer Service

Straight past the Story Inn (great breakfast)on Elkinsville Rd. 3 mi. Road turns to gravel and go 1/2 mi. over bridge and park on left.
