Ft Ben offers a few different trail options from begin-er to the more technical. There are three different loops, two in a the same area, and one on the other side of the park. The Lawrence Creek trail is my favorite because its offers some more diversity and elevation changes. (about the most you can get in central Indiana at least). There is also a beginer trail for the kids located in this area. The descends on the Lawrence Creek trail have nice big bermed turns allowing for a very aggressive decent. A majority of the trail is off camber having the trail run along side the middle of the hills.

Schoen Creek Trail is a more intermediate trail. Some nice switch backs and bridges to cross. Its a little more drawn out than the Lawrence Creek Loop allowing you to get a few extra miles in.

Over all I would recommend this trail over any other in the Indianapolis area.

Here's the website that talks about some of the trail system in Ft Ben. The computer wasn't cooperating when I put the trail in so a few things to add:
1. if this trail is in there already, I apologize. Just let me konw and I'll delete this posting.
2. This is a great newer trail in indy. You can easily get 4-8 miles out of it. There's 2 different loops as far as I can tell

The local Indiana Mt Bike guys did the trails and they're really fun. You wouldn't expect this kind of elevation change right in the middle of Indy, but there are some really good/tough/possibly a little sketchy hills in there. More info to follow as I hit it more often and find out more about them. Happy trails!!

any of them.

Aerobic difficulty: 5 because you can work as hard as you like. it can be tough, or easy

Technical: 3 because it's not as technical as some others, but technical enough compared to what else is in the area.

Overall: 4 because it's new, fun, gives you a great workout, allows you to get a little lost maybe...kinda like a new chick. =)
