This is an easy beginer's trail which runs parallel, and then connects to the Illinois Prairie Path somewhere West around Winfield, enabling a nice alternate route to take back to Glen Ellyn. Some of the road crossings can be hazardous with blind curves where you can not see approaching cars, but these are well marked and there are bridges over main highways. This trail is less traveled than the prairie path--which can be downright crowded on summer weekends--making serious riding difficult, having to navigate traffic which consists of walkers, riders, skateboarders, etc. The scenery is nicer along the prairie path, which also offers better shading on hot summer days, but you can often ride the entire path without encountering another soul, enabling an obstacle free ride.

Customer Service

Well, I start out from North Ave. (Hwy 64). The trail is 1/4 mile in off Main Street heading towards Glen Ellyn

This is not a mountain bike trail, and therefore should probably be removed from this review. It's a flat, stright old rails to trails. Crushed limestone surface. If you're looking for an enjoyable ride with the wife and kids, it's not a bad choice.

Smooth ride for a Rec Mountain bike or even a road bike. You can be creative when using a full supension MTB. Try the shoulders of the path. it's pretty rough!
I did it once! You'll appreciate what shocks are made for. One thing you have to remember after a ride, CLEAN YOUR BIKE! and PLEASE...wear a HELMET!

Customer Service

I always start from Main St. Glen Ellyn Rd. going northwest to the Elgin Branch of the IPP.
