Indy is a great trail, I suggest parking at the top and riding the loop clockwise, this ends up being about a 9 mile ride +/- 1 mile depending on which trails you take. Indy definitely has the most elevation change of any trail in the area. There are some great fast twisty downhill sections and a few grueling climbs to get your heart pumping. There is very little technical challenge aside from some roots, optional log crossings and a couple 1 foot drops. The trail is a fun, fast, winding single track that will give you a decent workout.

Customer Service

Begin at the top by the baseball diamonds and ride the loop clockwise.

Lots of trail to ride here with good flow and some tough climbs and screaming descents. You could spend hours riding here.

Best trails around. Some parts are fast and some very technical. Some good climbs and some good roller-coasters. If you're luck you might come across some deer or turkeys. If you're unlucky you might actually hit them on the trail! Not to mention is very pretty back there!

Customer Service

I like to start up at the ball diamonds and head to Superman Hill and take the left or the right before you actually go down Superman. But you can't go wrong at Indy. Its all good!

Basically a kick a$$ singletrak, the only competitor around here is dirkson, but I'm closer to Indy, cause I live in Marquette Heights. I love it for mountain unicycling, lots of challenges including difficult downhills (Superman is killer for us unicyclists) and equally challenging uphills (not for me but for mountain bikers)and some fun logs and streams. Overall Five fat tires

Great singletrack! Props to Mike, Deon, Scott, Havana Tim, Randy and all the other Pekin guys that have helped create and maintain this park. The advantage this park has over several others in the area is...NO HORSES!!! It's pretty much a MTB park with very few hikers and NO horses...sweeeeeet.

Customer Service

North side single track out....South side single track back to the car.

Farmdale and Indy are my favorites (Farmdale does allow horses, but does have MTB only trails. Jubilee and Dirksen are also worth riding.

Hands down my favorite trail anywhere. I just moved from central Illinois to Flagstaff AZ, home of some sweet trails, and Sedona is just down the road to boot. I sometimes on the long climbs here I find myself daydreaming about Independence park back in IL! Challenging technical climb, fast fun technical descent. It could use a little bit of trail work though.

Customer Service

get a map from pamba.org. I like to ride the trails in a clockwise fasion, I think the south side is a more fun downhill then the north side.

Dirksen is about a mile away as the bike rides. I'd kill to live in the subdivision between the two parks.

Consists of one main trail with several off-shoots, a lot of which were poorly marked and maintained. The trails that we found were good, and seemed to be either very challenging or easy. There didn't seem to be much in between. Worthwhile to ride if you live nearby. Indy is lucky in being nearby a lot of other trails, so ride it if you come for the other trails.

Customer Service

Park along the road in front of the no motorized vehicle sign. The only way we know this is because others had parked there.

Just moved back to Chicago after a year in St. Louis and man do I miss the riding in the Lou. I've ridden Palos and Kettle Moraine but never Indy Park. After reading the review I thought the 3 hour drive would be worth it. It wasn't. I rode most if not all of the trails according to the map. As stated there are plenty of whoop de doos and creek crossings, most of which were not rideable due to recent rain. It is July though and the trails should be much drier. This place would be a total mess in the spring or fall, all of the trails are hard packed dirt, no rocks, and very slick when damp. There are good climbs as well but again you could never climb them unless it is bone dry. There was plenty of distance too but the conditions of the trails made this one of the most aggravating rides I have ever done. I'm used to difficult, in St. Louis I regularly rode one of the most extreme trails in the Midwest (read Chubb review). I recommend this trail only when the conditions are desert like, any moisture and forget about it. I actually got stuck in one of the ravines because it was too slick to climb. I couldn't even climb out without my bike. As one other reviewer stated, more bridges would help. If you live in the area it wouldn't be bad to ride when dry, I'll never make the trip from Chicago again, Palos is just as good.

I've never riden any others in Pekin, recommend Palos in Chicago or Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin.

some more trails the Little Ades boys and Scott created to add to Pekin parks collaction of some of the best trails in the state. Indy drys up after rains faster then the others and isn't as weedy so has become the local favorit.
