The Bone (Forest Preserve) - TRAIL

The Bone (Forest Preserve) - Trail, Glencoe, Illinois

Mostly singletrack, terrain is dry, but gets really muddy (I've been to New England...that muddy) when it rains heavily. One cool place is Motorcycle Hill, a tall hill with many jumps. Very fun!

Awesome! Tight, twisty, fast. Not too technical or outrageous climbs. Went there at night with some locals and saw many deer - incredible so close to the urban sprawl! 4 flaming turds because of its proximity to the city!

Customer Service

No clue. Started via subliminal entrance on the south side of Dundee Rd just east of the Edens Parkway Overpass.

Read recommendations for the review The BONE is actually the Skokie Lagoon.

Customer Service

There are 4 routes. North loop is the most technical. Old mans loop is the shortest but a lot of fun. The Bone which got its name from braking colar bones. Is a fun hill with jumps & BMX routes.Lastly is the South loop which has been very sloppy this spring but it is the longest route.

I love this place. It is a great ride everytime. Best ridden after a week of no rain. The motorcycle hill is worth a 15 mile ride to get to it. Not for the weak riders, i would rate the hill a difficult. Make sure your brakes are working and have fun!!!!!

Customer Service

Like the other review said, right after the lean-to shed. Go to the far right to avoid running into the wire that is strung to keep people out.

The Bone is best to ride about a week after a a good rain, can be very muddy at times, especially south end around the island. easy to get lost, some loops very close to the water. Motorcycle hill is a great workout and you will see why so many people break their collar bones.

Customer Service

you can enter off forestway drive, just north of tower rd.

It is a great place to test out your new bike. The thrill wares off after the first 20 times. Kids are building new stuff every week. The terrain is nice, miles of singletrack. I broke my front wheel clean off the bike there.

Customer Service

Like the other reviews.

Nice, tight, technical singletrack. Bring your knobbies and leave the semi-slicks behind unless it hasn't rained for at least a week. I've "toured" some of the other bisecting trails, but I can't make sense of them. The motorcycle jumps look like a good way for my wife to collect alot of life insurance on me. I think I'd try them if I wasn't by myself on a weekday early afternoon.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A MPA OF ALL THE DIFFERENT UNPAVED TRAILS AT SKOKIE LAGOON???

Customer Service

I've been taking what appears to be the North loop from Forestway (first sharp right after the access path car chain barrier)and exits on the paved path just South of the Chicago Botanic Garden.
