FIRST ST SW TRAIL - Trail, VERO BEACH, Florida

FIRST ST SW TRAIL - Trail, VERO BEACH, Florida

DESCRIPTION

For your first time enter to the right trail entrance closest to the road (not lake). Trail twists and turns a lot with various easy/intermediate/hard obstacles. You may get a little turned around but remember there is a long section to the south west along the canal, don't miss it, there is a cool teetertotter and other stuff down there. Swamp area in approximate middle of trail is a little interesting, not too bad if it's fairly dry. Watch for newest part of trail which branches off original trail towards the end, to the right, small bridge over water, then around lake through pine trees and back to start over semi-difficult ridge ride along First St. SW ditch.

This is the best trail and I only live 5 minutes from it! It is singletrack with some loop-D-loops and obstacles. There is a cool tree ride in the beginning and a frames and a teeter-totter. Anyone who wants to do trail work please e-mail me and we can set up a time. Mike Hunt is the main guy and he does an awesomw job. He just made a new section that goes to the right at the entrance that is a great warm up lap. You will see him out there with his dog. If you ride Ft. Pierce then just come north on I-95 to Indrio, travel east on indrio to 43rd. Then turn left, north, on 43rd and hang a left at 1st sw. Make sure you don't go too far and got to 1st street. You can park down the road at the groves.

This is an OK trail for Florida but don"t get too excited by the first review. It is tight 42 28 and no places to relly let it hang out. It has some good beginner and intermediate sections but nothing worth the drive from far away.. All the land around it has been sold and is under development and it is under contract as of May 15. It is soon to be posted and closed. Jim and Jeff did a great job and deserve many kudos for transforming the trial in the last year but like so many trails it is doomed

I have seen this trail mature from just "a local place to ride" to a pretty fun trail. Granted, it is not a Santos, Carter Rd. or TOE, but it is getting beter every day. There are new bridges over swamp and water areas as well as some pretty good stunts (teeter-totters, box jumps, narrow bridges and drops 2-4 feet). You can ride this trail fast or just cruise and play on the terrain and stunts. The trail is a little over 3 miles and is very worn in. The way that Jim and Jeff bridged the water adds a lot of charater to the trail. Is it worth a long drive? Not really. But if you are in, around or passing through Vero, it is worth the stop. Bring bug spray!

It may be the beginning of the end. The western part fo the front section of the trail has been cleared. The trail is still ok, but it is time to look elsewhere. The airport trail still has 5-6 mile of good trail. It has not been ridden on in years.

As of two weeks ago, this trail is no more. Construction has taken out some of the trail, and the rest has been fenced in. RIP

I just went on this trail this weekend for the first time and had a blast. The trail was not fenced in and had some cool ramps and logs you could ride over. There was some narrow areas but it was awesome riding along the water (but be careful!) We stopped by the lake and even saw some alligators.
Hopefully, this trail is not destroyed because it's one of the best things in Vero Beach. It will give you a good workout and it's extremely fun. It's an intermediate trail, but most beginners could probably handle it. This trail rocks and I can't wait to go back!!!

Customer Service

Travel the entire trail, but bring bug spray and plenty of water.

I'm a freerider/racer and this trail sucks. Alot of the trail is water logged and its flat and no drops jumps or anything.........the wooden crap goes up then down no drop just crappy ass begginer crap. Don't waste ur gas or time to go here its surrounded by a new subdivision and i would guess they dont want mountain bikers in the back yard cause that is basically where u are half the time. I give this trail 2 out of 10.

I was out at the trail this weekend it was alot of fun, at hasnt rained in a while so it was very dry and hard pack no sand, this is the place to go if it hasnt rained in a long time. the trail was in good shape but you could tell that it hasnt been ridden in a while. the trail goes all over the place, but I was able to figure out a pretty good loop that connected most of the finger ridges that go around the lakes. the trail does have some change in elevation about 10 foot at the most. The trail is also very tight. you can go fast thru almost all of the sections in all about 4+ miles. Yes they have done some clearing of some of the trail back last year, but is seems like they have stopped. The trail is in good shape and alot of fun for around here!
