From the Kilarney trail head up to about mile marker 15 is OK. Parts of the trail need work, the pavement and concrete are cracking and buckling in several places. It is not a trail where you can really go flat out, as there are tons of road crossings. The downtown Winter garden area is congested, touristy, and just slows you down.

What happens after mile 15? Well, you face the possibility of getting assaulted, that is what happens. The trail unfortunately goes through a really depraved neighborhood, you will recognize, and it may be pointed out to you (it was yelled towards me)...that you should just turn around. The exact words used may not be that polite though.

There are definately better trails out there. If you have a decent trail near you, I would advise you to skip the west orange....you aren't missing anything.

This is a great trail to take kids, but be mindful of Florida midday heat. I hate to say travel West, but travel West to Clermont from Winter Garden, or head to Horseman's Park. Not only does the trail pass through a very sketchy neighborhood in Apopka, but prior to reaching Apopka, you pass by what appears to be (and smell) like a sewage treatment plant. The trail itself is flat (like the rest of Florida) and not terribly exciting nor challenging. Basically, it beats jogging around the block.

Customer Service

Winter Garden to Clermont---park your bike and take a break at the Wildlife Nature Reserve just past Oakland.

Very good, paved trail for the casual biker. Some sections wooded, some open in the sun. Paved trail in excellent condition. Rode trail from the Apopka-Vineland Outpost at mile marker 14 north to Apopka mile marker 17 and retun, then west to Ingram Outpost mile marker 12 and return to the Apopka-Vineland Outpost mile marker 17, 14 miles total.

Customer Service

Start at the Apopka-Vineland Outpost parking area mile marker 14, but DO NOT ride north further than 1 mile. Trail goes into Apopka and I was acosted by a small gang of black youths who threw filled coke cans at me. Got on cell phone to Apopka police who said not to ride thru that area. Ride west and you will be safe. Ride to the Clarcona Horsemans Park for a nice look at horses.

Hey, it's a paved trail. What's to review??
Well, there are a few gentle hills and a Station with facilities, a playground and a shop with bike and rollerblade rental on the west end and 5 miles east of there in Winter Garden you've got the same thing minus the shop. Continuing east it's about 15mi to the end with no facilities in between but there is constant construction.
It's a great paved trail. I ride the whole thing almost every day. It gets a lot busier on the weekends, so stay to the right and call your passes.

Customer Service

I prefer the Ocoee side (east) of the trail because there are fewer road crossings and it's less developed. However, there are more facilities and a nice place to stop and have a bite (Downtown Browns) on the west side.

This is a paved trail that will bore anyone with a mountain bike.
Yea its senic but so is my yard. Drive the extra hour and hit the Santo's trails for some MOUNTAIN biking. Unless you live near it, ride a sidewalk.

This trail is great, lot of hills and stuff to look at as well as shade and water stops on hot days. If you like horse at the 17 1/2 mile mark of the north end of the trail, don't head up to Apopka, keep going and you'll end up at the Orlando riding stables. A word of caution: If you do take the trail into Apopka, it's ok at first, but once you get into the neighborhood area be cautious, or better yet just ride like crazy and DO NOT stop for anyone that's not biking,(Several people have been mugged in this area).

Customer Service

I usually start at the beginning trail head on other side of Winter Springs. If yo have kids that can't do the whole trail or the hills. Start at the Chapin trail head. It has a nice ride and a great play ground / park for the family. The trail itself is great to do some great speed and hill work if you want. The wind always seems to be coming from the North - East so on your way out, remember that it will be at your back on your return trip.

A very mello trip, excellent for beginers and children. If yu start at the Temple and head Southwest the trail is approximately 15 miles. There are several restaurants, bars, and stores along the way.

Customer Service

It is nice to start at the Korean temple on the westside of Apopka Vineland Road, Parking is 1/10 mile north of the Claracona/Ocoee and Apopka Vineland.

The park/trail was wonderfully designed, this route was so clean, (no litter). I do wish there was a flashing red light at each road crossing a little dangerous for kids. But it's an excellent trail.
