Mandarin Park - TRAIL

Mandarin Park - Trail, Jacksonville, Florida

Mostly hardpack, but some sandy. Very short trails that are great for an after school/work ride

Very small park, with very little mileage. For as small as it is, they did run a few trails in there. If you live within a few miles, it's worth incorporating it in a ride, but not worth driving across town.
If you like roots, and most of us don't, it does have a small and very technical root section, but other than that, it is not technical.
Instead of dillos, they have lots of cats. They feed stray cats out there.
The most fun I had there was when I was riding through the neighborhood and rode my rode bike though it.
I enjoyed the view from the pier. It's also a great place to launch kayaks.

Customer Service

Somewhere else. But if you must go and try it (I did), it really doesn't matter. Just jump on a trail and jump on one you haven't been on yet and in 20 min. of wandering around, you'll be done.

People seem confused about this park. It is in Mandarin off San Jose Blvd, there are signs leading to it across from ACE hardware. These are clearly walking trails that you may bike on. The longest trail is 1.7 miles but can be made slighly longer by taking some of the loops and joining one of the other (less than 1 mile) trails. I used these trails to introduce my wife to trail riding and that is all they're good for. There is nothing extreme here, just a relaxing introduction to riding off the road. If you use it for that it's a nice trail nothing more, nothing less.

Typical florida trail. Stay out of the main park, really boring. Ride the area by in the front of the park by the pile of limerock. Lots of loops and cutoffs. There used to be some bridges, manmade thangs but they look pretty bad.

The nice for a short ride, it's never the same because the trails always change and there's always somewhere new to go. But not worth more than a half hours drive

Customer Service

Any, they all stay within the small park

bring your kids, they will enjoy the easy trails. (There is a section next to the river that is difficult because of the roots. 200yrds!)

Don't Bother!
Go to "Crusty Knuckles" at Kernan and Beach or Hana Park off Mayport Rd. both in Jax.
It gets one star only because I had to give it one to post my non review.

Lightbulb, the light must not be on. This is the one accross from NAS. The trail is not worth it unless you work on base and want to spin and turn before you go home. Beats the hell out of riding road or running.

Customer Service
