Just north of the publix shopping center in Watercolor on 395 there is a parking area on the right with a trail head. From there you can follow the trail all the way west until it comes out on a side street by Goatfeather's restaurant. Do yourself a favor and ride this trail when it's wet or be very careful of the sand. It's a fun little trail with some good scenery and occasionaly wild life. Wear something bright if you are riding during hunting season, though I've never actually seen anybody hunting out there. Also from the parking area you can access some service roads that go further East which can be fun to explore.

This is the Longleaf Pine Forest and I rode the portion of this trail that is west of CR 395 (greenway trail). I believe it is about 8 miles and it runs parallel to highway 30a. This is close to the gulf so there aren't any hills, very flat. It goes through some interesting coastal pine forests. When I rode it this part of Florida was in a long drought so the sand on the trail was tough to get through. Some parts are worse than others but the sand can be bad. It makes it hard to turn with any confidence and makes you work pretty hard sometimes. I was on vacation so I was just glad to get out for some exercise. Don't expect a lot from this trail outside of that purpose. There is apparently less sand on the east side of CR 395 but I didn't try that.

Excellent fun trail for beginners and experienced alike. The trails are groomed with care and are mainly burlap carpeted so you are actully riding on a swath of burlap about 36in wide. Very fun and hats off the trail groomers.

Customer Service

On SR 395 about 1/2 mile from C-30a look for the Trail markers.
