somehow this needs to be stopped, since i am sure logging does more damage to the area than mountain biking, but mtb is going to be banned, while logging flourishes! this must be stopped Customer Service this trail is great...that's why I am writing this...the town of Wallingford is planning to CLOSE THE TRAIL TO ALL MOUNTAIN BIKES AND TO SCRAP THE RACE DULLES RUN Similar Products Used: complain to the town of Wallingford or we all will lose one of the best trails in Connecticut! |

Unfortunately, a few FAT Bellied, gun toting, beer swiggin' rednecks claim that mountain bikers look an awful lot like deer and pheasant. Some how, they have run of the land on certain days as negotiated with the Town of Wallingford. It's deadly weapons against the mountain bikers. Most of these "hunters" are connected with the establishment in Wallingford politics and will get their way. For the unsafe and deadly hobby of a few, a great mountain biking and hiking area might be lost. Customer Service Follow the trail straight up the hill and through the field. At intersections look for the more worn trails. Enjoy.... |

Excellent. About ten miles of trails on 850 acre area. Variety of trails, from good singletrack to fireroads, some are flat; most have ascents and descents varying in technicality. Something for all skill levels; can ride for hours without hitting same trail. Can get pretty muddy after rain. Definetely worth checking out. Customer Service From back of the soccer fields at Veteran's Memorial Park or from the Muddy River bridge (Go past Veteran's, take first right, then first right again onto a gravel road, follow road until bridge) Similar Products Used: Middlesex, Westwoods |

This is a great place to ride if you want a good workout and a variety of trails and conditions. There has been quite a bit of nice singletrack that has been cut in the last year. The trails vary from easy to very technical with some stream crossings, logs, dropoffs and steep decents. Customer Service Come in the back way, via rt. 150 off of 91S. Find the parking lot next to the soccer fields; approx. 1 1/2 miles from the highway. Trail(s) are across the street. Similar Products Used: Just like the other reviews state; please call the town of Wallingford and let them know that the Mountainbiking community in the area wants these trails to stay open!! I ride there 3+ times a week in the morning. If anyone is interested in riding with me, e-mail me and we'll hook up!!! |

Good network of trails-you can make an easy loop for beginners or throw in different sections based on skill for tougher rides. the lower section (around the bridge)get soggy but if you stay toward the outside trails of the park you can find pretty fast track. The middle has really twisty and tight singletrack. Your sure to find something you like. Customer Service east center street exit off of 91, soccer field are about 1/4 mile off the exit, trail begin at end of parking lot. This place has everything and a lot of it. Plenty of technical stuff near E. Center Street Soccer Fields (When you head up the hills from fields, take a left as soon as you enter the woods, follow to your first right) This trail follows the base of a talus slope ---reminds me of West Woods. Towards the end you can take a trail which follows the spine of the ridge. Despite the abundance of technical trails, Tyler's Mill is also a great place for beginners as there are miles of fire trails which will not frustrate or intimidate a shaky novice. A good place to bring someone new to mountainbiking; yet it still won't bore any experts. Most trails are well-worn and hence, very fast. Lots of mud. In fact, it wasn't until this last summer's severe drought that the trails were generally mud-free. Customer Service Keep an eye out for the loop which surrounds the two largest swamps (If you see a rock wall across a dirt road---that's the entrance!). This loop is fairly new and is quite long and good. Some nice scenery. This loop goes through abandoned 17th-century house basements and yes, even has a pair drop-offs. Many, many beautiful rotten logs and rockwalls to traverse. Not blazed. Similar Products Used: West Woods (Guilford) |

This area has a few different kinds of trails to offer. Its got alot of fireroads for beginers and for blating down. Its got a great section of singletrack switchbacks. It has a few very technical sections as well. BUT, not enough of the good stuff. While the singletrack is great, there isn't quite enough of it. What there is is great, but its only a few miles tops (though it is the best I've ridden in CT) If you like technical stuff, drops, or fast downhills there really isn't much. One BIG drawback is the mud. Lots of it here. And where there is water, there are bugs. So be prepared! Frankly this place does not deserve a rating as high as it is now (4.4). I was a bit dissappointed when I first came here. The switchback singletrack is worth the drive (45 min) ever few weeks, but not much more. I've ridden Guilford and Trumbull and both of those are far better. If you are from out of state and in the area its worth a ride with a local who can take you to the good stuff. Singletrack= 5 stars Customer Service From the main parking lot take the trail to the left. This is where the most technical riding is. Its a loose, rocky, up 'n down stetch that goes along the ridge. Similar Products Used: Guilford, Cockaponset, Trumbull |

Tyler Mill is a place that a bunch of us go about once a month. It has a lot to offer, is close by, and will allow both beginner and experienced riders to enjoy each other's company. Do not go after rain or in the spring as this place gets full of MUD. This was the first place we went to this year and we were covered in mud. There are a lot of trails here so go and explore. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes. Customer Service Dooley's run, which was the race course. A lot of it has been logged now so I guess i'll have to find a new loop.
