Branford Supply Pond - Trail, Branford, Connecticut

Good riding of all types, for all abilities. Faster and flatter than other trails in the region?? The corkscrew is a blast

It's been awhile since anyone reviewed the supply ponds. The place is definitely getting better since all the logging was done in there years ago. Myself and a few other locals have been doing maintenance and even building some new trails. I was just in there Sunday and there was only one tree that came down recently that was blocking a trail. The fence is still up but as I understand it, the Land Trust has purchased the property behind the fence so it is now legal to ride back there. Please email me if you want a tour of the place, I'd be happy to show you the hidden gems there. greg- gcfit@zanes.com

The head of the best and most technical trail is IMMEDIATELY after the last house (white) on the left when you approach from Tommy Sullivans, it is across the street from the small 2-3 car parking lot where the hanging Supply Ponds sign is. This trail climbs up to the top of a ridge and follows the property line closest to North Ivy street (there is a dumpster company on that road and you can almost see the back of their property when the leaves are down). It climbs and descends multiple times with a few cool features; 2 steep rock faces, a stream crossing, couple logs, and an awesome curvy banked descent in to some tight, technical mountain laurels. Check Strava to get an idea where it is.

What a great ride, really had a blast. Not terribly technical or steep(at lest the part i did, more exploring to come), but a really fun ride. Managable singletrack, great place to get some trail confidence if youre new to the sport & fun to rip through if youre not.

Customer Service

All over, just go in & explore.

Customer Service

This trail is great for everyone, but THE DIRECTIONS ARE WORNG. THE HIGHWAY YOU TAKE IS I-95, NOT I-91. NOTE THIS OR GOD KNOW WHERE YOU'LL END UP.

this area is really nice, a departure from other CT trails, very fast and smooth (for NE at least). There is one trail with an awesome corkscrew descent, really fast......i like it

Customer Service

911 => The name is self explanatory. Do it with a friend who has a cellular phone so he can make that call if necessary!!!!

I've lucked out. My inlaws live nearby, so no problem getting there. I've riden most of the area over this past summer. Had some nice long rides. 911 is steep, it was real dry and slippery this summer, but rideable. The Corkscrew is fun. I've almost busted a lung climbing it. The rest of the area is full of fast and smooth single track, you can really move.

Customer Service

None in particular. Just go and get lost for awhile.

Similar Products Used: Westwoods. Better than Supply Pond. Some serious technical sections.

TAKE I-95. Not 91. Rest of directions are fine (Tommy Sullivans Cafe). I used to ride here quite often. great variety of trails. all trails are ridable. And how nice, that little breathtaker on the climb to all the trails. Could also wake you up coming out too. A definate thumbs up.

Customer Service

Definately! Take "Corkscrew". Or just spend your day in there.

Similar Products Used: Westwoods is about the Closest nearby. For this area anyway.

I rode these trails for 2 hours this past Sunday having never seriously mountainbiked in the past... BIG mistake! I went with a psychopathic extremist co-worker of mine who apparently gets multiple orgasms when his lungs are on fire... this shit ain't for me... hope this gives you all you nut-bars out there a good idea what you're in for!
P.S.- Anyone who says they pedaled up 911 is full of shit.
