AS mentioned previously, this area is for beginners and intermediates, however, you can get a decent workout by following the perimeter. I do this when I want a quick hour on the bike after work. The Roundup Trail has the nicest single-track to go down, but it is short. The views of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak can be nice, too. Watch out for hikers! Don't get this area closed as I live next door and I like to go for a quickie after work!

Park on the left (east) side parking lot. Go up the steep little section (to the east of the Bike Park)and ride the short single track to the jeep trail going in a southerly direction. At the big meadow, turn west past the big red rock spires. Go left to hit the Roundup TRail (where the double track ends). Stay on this as it climbs and then rolls up and down across three jeep trails. You can do an out and back (to the Intemann Trail)on the any of the jeep trails to get another 10 minute uphill workout. Down Roundup to SAnd Canyon Trail. You can't ride COntemplative TRail....Take a side trip to the old quarry...it's really cool....

Red Rocks is a great all around destination for every rider. It can easily be accessed from hwy 24 or by bike from Intemann trail above the park. New trails are being added and improved all the time thanks to volunteers so there is always something new to try.

Customer Service

Red Rock Canyon just opened to the public 10/29/04. I rode it on my SS (2:1 ratio)the 31st and I equate the technicality of the trails to that of Garden of the Gods. I would have been bored had it not been for my SS. The scenery is different and the multi-use trails give riders more freedom to explore- including taking it to Section 16, however I would not make a special trip. There is great potential to find connections to area trails to make it a bigger work out.

Customer Service

Just try to get lost. That will be the greatest challenge.
