Skyline singletrack is my "Home" ride. For a longer ride continue to the right at the second gate and continue for approx. 3/8 mile and follow the trail downhill to the right. After several rollercoasters hang a hard left at the oak tree and continue down the switches for some fast railin' fun. Ride it to the bottom and continue left for a granny grind up a few switches and have enough time to recover for a short hike a bike (unless you're king-tech-climber. Props to you...)and the rest of the climb back to the top of the ridge. Check out the huge landfill to the right. Remind yourself to recycle more. When you get to the top continue to the left along the fence and loop back to the start point and THEN do the Skyline trail and the climb back to the road and your parking spot. Be cool and don't litter and act like a knuclehead. The residents up there are pretty cool. Enjoy..

Same directions as below except take a right at the second gate.

Instead of turning left at the gate, hop over the gate onto RoseHills and continue up to water tower proceed down the Threee Bitches until you hit the fire road continue on the fire road till you see the fork in the road go left continue and either go on the right down "A Side" or go alittle further and turn left. You must walk up a steep hill and go down "The Burnt" someone started making a trail off of this one looks like it's going to be a good fast downhill run. If you're a hiker walking up this one, watch out because downhillers do it with speed.............

All the trails on the Rose Hills side are the shit but don't let the rescue Ranger catch you. He's pretty FAT so he probably won't be able to. Accept in his truck if he only Knew where the trail Ended........

Rejoice and behold the wonderous splendor that Whittier has to offer. First the ascent, but when you hit the top, it's all good. Massive choices allow the rider the best UNCONGESTED paths at an easy pace. Friendly, everyday, laid-back Joes like us make the place worth going back for. If you just want to ride, get a great view of the fantastic S.G. Valley, and have a good time, this is it! P.S. The local's buildings that can be seen from the top of the climb is a real trip. Use a USGS map for longer stretches. If you want technical rides, you have to search pretty well to find it, unlike the various trails on Mt. Wilson. Perfect for all like me:low budget bike, get out there and go for the ride types who enjoy adrenaline-less rides on the weekend.

follow skyline road as beverly ends. 'Bout a mile or less to the left of the road is the gate. Most riders park a bit closer to civilization. Get a photocopy of a USGS (United States Geology Service) topo map for true trail courses!

I have heard riders saying that this stretch of trail connects all the way to Chino Hills, if one can plot the right course. Have I mentioned to get a USGS map? Trust me, it's easier that way!

Take fire road for about 3 miles.(3/4 of the way up, when you get to a T on the road, stay to your right). Stay on the trail and follow road along the fence. A hundred yards down, you'll see a gate on your left side. Get to the other side and go left. Right away on your right, you'll see a trail. Follow trail until you get to the horse tie off and go to your left. Downhill for 3 miles, then uphill for 3 more. Follow trail down and stay to your left. It'll end up at the same gate you started at. keep going straigt along the fence and make a right when it ends. Follow trail down. You'll end up back on beverly where you started.

Customer Service

take the 605 exit Beverly. Go east on Beverly for approximately 3.5 miles. On the left hand side you'll see a gate and a long fire road. There is plenty of parking along the side of the road.

Once you're at the top, you can go many ways down, check it out for yourself, i'm sure you'll find a track that suits your thrill. Ask people, everyone is very friendly and can give you alternative routes from that point. CAUTION: There are lots of people that go jog or walk their dogs on the way up the fire road, so if you're coming down at a high speed (Av.25-30mph) be careful with people, try to slow down and not get them cover with dirt. I ride here about 2X's a week, it's an awesome place to ride and the 20 mile drive from L.A. is totally worth it.

Customer Service

From 605, head East on Beverly until it curves into the wilderness, you'll see the fireroad entrance to the left. Park along the side and ride your way up the fireroad, it's a little steep, about a mile ride up.

This place has a little bit of every thing to make it fun. XC, small and big jumps(by the water tower), short fun downhill to work on you tech skill.
I try to do maintenance on this trails specialy after it rains. There are a few jumps, the small ones are easy to find and the big ones are harder to find. If a anyone would like to help me with a litle hard work we could make this place better than the Kenter Coaster. Drop me an email, please put "whittier trail" in email subject else it the email goes directly to my trash bin, I hate spam...

Customer Service
