Lime Ridge - TRAIL

Lime Ridge - Trail, Walnut Creek, California

This area was made by a bunch of insane BMXers who love very big jumps. The main trail that I like is located at the top of the ridge . There are several ways to get to ridge, but the top is right next to some radio transformers. This track is not very long but is very quick with many switchbacks, and HUGE!!! jumps. Once you have completed the top section stay to the left and go by the water tower. This bottom section of the trail is almost as fun as the top. If you take all the jumps, you should consider youself crazy , if you take a few of the smaller ones I would rate this as a short intermediate trail. Especially good if you only have a couple hours to spare

Yes I've only ridden it once but from now on it's my go to trail. The singletrack is awesome. I couldn't find any jumps but I'll be looking next time I go. The route I took was a constant climb until I got to the water tower then it was the funnest singletrack I've been on. Just cool switchbacks and tight turns. The area isn't that big so exploring it shouldn't take too long but it was 95 degrees out so I just wanted to go home. I loved it out there. I'll be going back for sure.

Customer Service

I entered at Ygnacio and Cowell. I took the trail head up and made my first left. I followed it down to a uphill singletrack. After wearing my self out I saw a very steep uphill trail. I followed that up to the water tower. At the water tower I took the singletrack right next to it and I came out right back where I started.

the whole area is generally a great place for many types of biking. the jumps are pretty tight but the things i noticed most about the trail is the diversity. i saw a bunch a drops near the top, jumps all over, and a great loop trail around the top area near the radio tower. I very much recommend that you take it from the radio tower at the top and then make your way exploring on the hills it is overall a terrific ride but wouldn't recommend group ride cause of the single track and sometimes the huge climbs

Customer Service

i live very near the area so i say take ygnacio to chystal ranch and then hop a couple fences to the radio tower

The effects of the quarry are still seen today. There is great terrain right now, but even better if you bring a shovel. Word on the street is that some "people" are going to build up the area right above boundary oaks golf course with some table tops, ladders, and other goodies. But nothing until x-mas break.

Customer Service

Go to boundary oaks golf course. In the driving range parking lot is the enterance for the poliece shooting range. Just ride up there and you're in hucking and drops country. I hear there might be some ladders being built soon.

Similar Products Used: Shell ridge is cool. But only if you know where to go. Castle rock park is better. Also, most people don't know about Mt. Diablo itself. Ride 2 miles past the ranger gate on North Gate road and find some cool trails.

It's very fast, and you can choose how long you take in the trail. There are many fast turns, and many jumps. Some jumps are super big, and they really scare me. Make sure you have good working breaks and pedals, because they are very important on this trail. You can spend as much time on the trail as you like, thanks to all the turns and such.

Customer Service

Go into Pine Hollow Road off of Ygnacio next to the 76 gas station. take a right at Discovery Way. Go all the way to the top of the hill(Discovery Way is a hill). There will be a small opening at the end of the road. Just go straight into it. Keep headed uphill, there is no really set course after the end of that small road. You will see a green gate, go in. Keep climing. You will see yourself on top of a narrow hill. Right now, the trail has been partly washed away thanks to the rain. So, if you're crazy you can start from the washed out part(one of my friends was crazy enough). It is a deep hole that's wide enough to let your bike in.

This trail is a blast!!!! Lots of technical single track! - Its a roller coaster of a ride. Take it slow the first time. Never know whats going to be on the other side of the bump. BIG JUMPS - Ya gotta love it!

Park or ride to the Boundry Oaks Golf coarse. Take the fire roads toward Yagnacio Rd. From here you can ride the fire roads to the Water tower, or ride the Lime Ridge Trail to the top of the mountain.

This trail is only known to the locals and it ROCKS, LOTS of air (broken collarbones) and high burms . It's an extension of the trail from the Boundry Oaks North to the Water Tower, which is actually located at an ancient Ohlone Indian burial sight.

Customer Service

Park in the Crossings across Ygnacio Valley Road and hike across Ygnacio at Cowell then it' a short puffer to the top. Either the water tank or the waterfall start of the "cowhopper trail" or what my friends call the whoop-d-do trail. You stay left on the way up on a fire road then cut right on the fire trail on the flats for a 1/8 mi then left on the trail itself stay right on the way up , then right on the way down(opposite direction) thenget set for some sweet air!

Lots o' sucky trails!!!
Yeah, there's a few drops and jumps, but they are all CRAPPY!!!! My 3yr old daughter could ride these things on her big-wheel w/o any problem. People who ride here are all delusional.. They think this place rocks, but it doesn't. Do yourself a favor and go ride Rockville instead. It's not to far from here.

This place is perfect for slalom training, and big jumps. For the old school riders: All the jumps have been built back up and are better then ever! There is one jump that is an honest 30 footer form lip to lip.

Customer Service

Everything is bad ass. I especially like the trail leaving the water tower, remember to go straight after the tower, don't take the big burm off to the right. If you go straight it hits some really cool semi drop-ins with a follow up by some jumps. I was having so much fun I spilled and dislocated my shoulder.
