this is a cool short single track, a good trail for beginners to learn their single track & technical skills. i loved de la when i got into mt biking way before it blew up into the downhill/freeride scene, even before disc brakes, & you were the poop if you had a ROCKSHOX fork.

i still hit it now & again, but it has gotten really wasted over the years with all the roots in the bigger berms. the washout playground is fun too.

Customer Service

park @ the sand pit or int the park. take fire road to & then literally through the golf course to the paved road straight ahead. then ride up to top of the world, then take the very first shute off to the right, you'll find the rest of the way out to where you started.

word of advice... i'll run you over if you're riding up the single track, down is the only right of way on this trail.

DeLaVeaga has some great trails. I would recomend hitting top of the world. Go to the top of the frisby golf course and the trail goes down the back side of the mountain from there. When you get to the bottom of it there is a four way type intersection. Go straight through it to a fire road directly across from the trail end. Follow that fire road until you get to the sand pit. That place is sick .

Sweet trails. All singletrack, a steep hill on one side going up, another going down on your other side. Tight, rooty, techinical. Much fun. The fire road that leads to the bottom passes a quarry type thing with some 7+ foot drops too, and there are some big jumps hidden around there too. No more detail, I want them to stay secret.

Customer Service

Head up through Branciforte drive or go up some other fire road, I forgot the street names.

pretty fun trail. i went alone w/out really knowing where to go but found top of the world easily enough, then dropped in and had a blast. i'm pretty much a newbie and just about anything single track, through the forrest, is thrilling for me. i'd rate it a 5 if i could've found the loop all the way back to top of the world. i got most of the way back and then cut across the golf course. man, it's easy to leave deep tire tracks on a golf course w/ mud tires, right after a rain.

The trails are basically short but intense drops off the top holes of the frisbee golf course that all lead down to some nice single track. Hole 4 and 5 have the most technical and almost inverted drops down to the single track. You basically want to ride on the edge of the golf course until you see what you might think is a drop.. it most likely is. They all lead to the same section of wooded single track, so any drop will get you back down to the bottom. The climb back up is not as bad as it looks.. its relativly gentle uphill climbing. In a day, you should be able to get 3-4 runs in without killing too much energy at the same time. This will also make an awesome shuttle run, but i have yet to even try to drive to the top of the golf course. Throughout the single track, there are frequent burm jumps, some pretty hairy, but just do it.. you wont regret it... some nice air off of some of them.

Customer Service

The trails are off of the golf course greens in the frisbee section of the golf course. Take 17 over the mountains to santa cruz, take the "beach cities" exit and make a left at your first stop light. Make your first right at the next stop sign, follow that down till you get to a T in the road and go left. Follow that road till your next stop sign and take another left (it is a Y in the road). About 100 feet you will see a gravel parking area on the right, park and begin the moderate climb up through the metal gate and up the paved trail. Climb to the top of the golf course and start looking for drops. I would not recommend these drops to anyone who does not liek that feeling of inverted/almost going over the bars downhill...there are a few very mild drops, but most of those you must find your own line.. the carved lines are always the most advanced. Definatly not for the beginner, but alot of overall FUN riding for intermeddiate/advanced.

Similar Products Used: Beware of flying golf balls when crossing the greens... i have a feeling that the golfers dont like us too much, but the frisbee players get a kick outta watching.
