Okay. I had to chime in because I have not been up here for a while but went today and noticed the trail work that has been done by MMWD. Last time I was up,the trail was in great shape. It's still in good shape but muddy in spots. Did MMWD really need to repair this trail?? Seems like wasted money to me, but what do I know. Anyhow, still steep and a great workout from the park if you only have limited time. MMWD felt the need for water bars, which is my real reason for review. There great ramp type water bars and you can get some real good air if thats what you like. An actual reason for you DHers to make the climb. You'll like it, just be careful of the hikers and dogs. One tire for the view, one for the water bar jumps and one for the workout.

OK, I don't ride this much anymore -- there's not much point to it, other than suffering -- but since someone took the trouble to list it, I thought I'd weigh in.
Actually, thinking about it makes me want to give it a shot. This is just one long uphill pull, with pretty pedestrian loop options, unless you're a dick and want to try to poach Deer Park Trail and get busted. It varies from steep to very steep, but has one nice meadow stretch where it gets level. The views are, indeed, lovely, and in the spring the grass and wildflowers are killer. Its a good ride (and a better run) to test your fitness.

I live very near this trail and I use this as a warmup and check my bike for mechanicals, squeaks and rubs in a very quiet area. Since it is steep, (1,100 feet), the road lets you get stretched and breathing good by the time you hit the gate. The views are excellent and the downhill on Worn Springs fireroad can get you up to 30 mph in a hurry. Don't scare the locals. This is a fireroad.
