S.T.P. (Sewage Treatment Plant) - Trail, Nevada City, California

S.T.P. (Sewage Treatment Plant) - Trail, Nevada City, California

DESCRIPTION

fun singletrack with a climb on roughly paved road at the end. ride the trail for a ways, not far after the chain link fence, you turn right on a trail that is not very visable. if you go too far you wil get to a BIG slipery log that not even Hans Rey could do on his normal bike, if you get there, you've missed the right turn. bomb down the right turn trail, but don't lock up you brakes. keep some speed no matter how technical it gets, that will help you get through the rollers. eventualy you'll get to a little drop to the road, launch it if you have enough huevos. climb the "road" to a fire road at the top on your right. go up that and follow the fun Bunny Slope trails back out to the road.

This short and sweet iconic little trail has been entirely reworked for the good. With bits of pavement in and around Nevada City, it hooks up nicely with other Land Trust trails like Hirschman's and Tribute. Pleasant mtb if you're stuck it town and downright fantastic on a 'cross bike.

A few of us locals fixed this trail a few years back. It's a very short loop that leads down to dear creak. it's all single track and can be dangerous at parts. do death drop that's located on the other side of the hill. death drop isn't a trail to be reckon with.

This trail isnt as Gnarley as these other people have said. There is some steep decents and some turns you have to watch, but thats about it. Its short, a great wrm up ride.

Alright, here is the RIGHT way to get to this trail. Form the Tour of Nevada City Bike Shop, go down Pine St. and almost immeadiatly turn left onto Cross St. Go down across Gethsemene St, left on Jordan, and all the way down to a green house on the right side of the road. Straight across from this house is a trail up the hill. Follow it to the next paved road and climb out.

This trail is less then 5 minutes from my office, and I hardly ever ride it. There are alot more fun trails in the area. It is a good place to work on your log hopping.
