This trail has a little bit of everything. Some good downhill towards the end of the trial but first you have to climb the 800ft granite face. If you are good in the saddle and have a big set of lungs on you, you may be able to ride up the granite but most people walk it. Either way it's a great cardio workout. Be careful not to get lost the first time on the granite. Look for the rock piles, red ribbon and chalk arrows to guide you. There is a yearly race there in the summer which is great fun. Good for beginners and expert riders. Not for those who just want to go downhilling.

Customer Service

There are two routes to the granite. First you can go left at after the second gate on the single track. Secondly you can keep on the double track on take a right at each fork you come to till the granite.

HOw to get there... Take Hwy 168 East from Fresno towards Shaver Lake. Before you get to Shaver lake, turn Right onto Dinkey Creek Road. Take Dinkey Creek Road approximately 7 mile to Markwood Meadows on the Left.

This ride is pretty fun and very sceenic. The single track is moderatly fast with some fun corners and is slightly rough. Most of the serious climbing is done on the granite dome which kind of dominates the ride. The dome is very hot in the summer (all fresno area riding is hot in the summer) and slight altitude sucks. There is a granite playground near the trail head you can have fun on. The race they hold here each year is a good time.

Customer Service

Take the dirt road for a few hundred feet, a singletrackstarts on your left shortly. Head down this until you hit a fire road. Turn left and cross the bridge. Stay left and the fire road turns into a singletrack. The trail comes to a creek at the bottom of a huge granite dome. Make your way to the top (very steep) until you come to a fire road. Head downhill on the fire road on your left there will be a singletrack, take this and continue downhill. You will end up on the fire road you started on at the bridge. Climb the road or single track out to your car.

Sometime in late 2002 or early 2003, this trail has
been bulldozed to an ugly 15 to 20 feet width. The
damage is right up to the start of the granite section.
You can still ride here, but it is not the same.
Expect more dust than usual for the next year or so.

Customer Service

It's a figure eight, take the west side of both loops
to start, climb the granite, then return back to the
start along east side.
