Didn't realize this place still existed. Jump park that can get really sketchy when wet. If you want to hit a lot of the bigger lines make sure it hasn't rained in a few days. I'd recommend a dirt jump bike, AM tends to be too slow on the flat ground. I've found that the best time to go out is about an hour before sunset, or else it can be literally overrun by little kids that cut across landings and get in the way.

A lot of the bigger lines haven't really been maintained well, but there's a good medium table line that's new. Still there's jumps for any level.

Fun place, but avoid it when wet. Marsh mud will bring your fun to a screeching halt. Someone laid an I-beam across one of the gap jumps to make a skinny, which is cool except it's kind of slippery! Head north along the shoreline and you'll find a short bit of singletrack where you can practice you log crossings on old telephone poles. There are more poles and large pieces of driftwood that could be linked together to build a log-ride/skinny feature? Watch out for deep piles of shells that act like gravel/sand to sap your momentum.

There are jumps for many levels. Here are a few pictures:

Customer Service

Hit "nips" (the big table), rail the lefty berm, pedal your butt off across the dried pond, then hit the main line. Or, hit the next berm of the oval track and hit "trick six" that points towards Oakland.

It is best to get a feel for your bike first on some of the smaller jumps. Once you know how your bike is going to react to junps then try hittin some of the bigger ones.

Anyone going to Shells for anything other than jumping is definitely a Fred. There are beginner jumps that are tabled, intermediate doubles and big scary 6-packs, even an X-Games sized gap jump I have never seen anyone attempt (it does have tire tracks, tho). There's a big hip to practice stalls and 180's. Try to find a time w/o too much wind (good fn luck!)

Customer Service

Start small, then go big. Highly recommend to go WITH the wind on the bigger lines.

Only trail in the immediate area, no downhill, flat and easy, short (about a mile). Big BMX pit right off the trail.

Customer Service

Right off shell blvd, along bay and slough, trail extends to Wildlife Refuge.

This was a great area to ride around when your under 12 but there isn't much of anything around. Yea, there's dirt and yes going through some of the slightly overgrown paths can get a little technical but for the most part its ONLY good of your a BMXer.

Customer Service

The three previous reviews apparently are not giving this
place the credit it deserves. It's a place to go jump your
bike. It has big jumps and small jumps, but all it has
are jumps. It gets a little overrun by little kids at
certain times of the day, but if you show up at the right
time you will inevitably see some good jumpers arrive
and show you how it's done.
