The above review is totally accurate. Cougar is a fun swooping trail with some good steep climbs and fun rolling descents. Hardtail is all you need for this track. AVOID the high ridge trail. While it does offer elevation and views, the track is not much to speak of and often fades away in the would be fire road that runs the ridge. You will hike a bike unless you are Tomac.

From the ranger office, climb up cougar and take it to the Boy Scout Camp. Ride past the main gate and connect to Duna Vista trailhead loop. Take Cougar back to main office. 10~ miles total? (while I havent ridden Duna Vista it is supposed to be the track to ride)

Cougar is a cool singletrack that meanders closely along the edge of the Lopez Lake campground. Not the type of trail for someone who wants to be out in the wilderness. It's a fun, rolling singletrack with some rockiness and lots of ups and downs. Great for people who don't like to have their climbing broken up with little downhill sections. Be prepared to pay a day use fee for parking, also.

Customer Service

Cougar as described above is cool. Myself being a lover of singletrack, though, I would forget the "high ridge loop" part. Ride Cougar out and back, and then find some other cool rides to do in the area. There are plenty. I would recommend "Two Waters", among others.

Similar Products Used: Two Waters, and many others the names of which I forget.
