Decent downhill if your in the area for a good day. Limited terrain gets boring fast. They need more woods trails, too much fall line stuff, anyone at Loon listening? Still a very fun day every so often. Mt. Snow still takes top honors for downhill.

Customer Service

Down and to the right. Stay right whenever possible. You will end up on a good trail that has some reasonable uphill sections and goes way out to the X-Country loop and then back. You'll get a little workout to break up the brake squeezing downhills.

These trails stink! If you are a downhiller, do not go here. They dig out huge water bars and pile up the back of them. So you go down into the water bar and smack the face of it coming up. There is no care into designing these trails. My wheels have gone out of true everytime I ride here. I have raced the trail 66 race series and all of those mountains blow loon out of the water. They have great potential with the terrain, but they lack an experienced staff. Most of the time there is only one open trail (for downhilling) and it is all fire roads and open singletrack. They need more tight, technical, wooded singletrack. I will never come here again. Take the extra hour and drive to a trail 66 mountain (besides Attitash), they are much better

I've been reading some bad reviews here for this trail.
I have a strong feeling that it is because most people are'nt finding the good stuff. If you get off the lift and just point your bike down and go you WILL probably think it's lame. However, if you get off the actual ski areas and go to the sides of the mountain ,especially to the left when looking down the mountain, you will find some INTENSE singletrack to wow intermediate to advanced riders. Then, two thirds the way down the single track ends and you are rewarded with a bonzai run to the base on fire roads with maintained speeds of 35-40 MPH. 1 star for ski trails 5 stars for the secret stuff.

My advice is skip the lifts and head over to the left side of the mountain. It's nothing crazy, but it's much better then the downhill Loon offers. How may waterbars can you put in a downhill?? Anyways stick to the left and work your way back around, I dont remember the name of the trails. They are not technical but atleast you will get an ok work out.

Customer Service

If your staying in Lincoln, just ride your ass over to the mountain.

I'm not a downhiller, but I like to ride a chair every now and then. LOON's downhill sucks. You've got to be on the brakes all the time because as sonn as your just finishing negotiating a water bar, there another on right in front of you. I think the ground staff only cares about skiing. The cross country trails to the right (looking at the mountain) are OK, but I haven't found any single track. Loon is beautiful, the skiing if great, and the town is great. I own a house there and I wish they'd commit a little more money to cutting new trails and fixing old ones

Loon just recently added new trails. This place is pretty fun but nothing real eye catching. And as for the water bars----- yes they are every 20ft. but they make the place interesting. Loon would be lame without them. Besides their fun to get a litte air off of . Go during the week hen theres no people. They han your bike off of these baskets and if theres many people there they will stick like 5 bike in one basket.(could get scratched) I'd go back!!!
