Trails are overgrown and not in any condition to ride, although the fire roads are still rideable.

Heard a rumor the lifts were turning for biking back in June, but can't confirm. Otherwise, the lifts at Bolton have been closed since '07. Many of the trails and features are still very ridable, some are even better then before, thanks to trail work by dedicated locals. Hope the rumors are true, Bolton terrain is best in it's class!

Bolton Valley has not been riden for some years, the trails are still there and look good but no one is riding at least not the downhills... the poeple who own the mountain no longer offer lift rides.. therefore no one is there!!!!
Get a clue! open! learn how to manage a 4 season resort!!

I can't believe nobody has reviewed Bolton since 2005. Well let me just say GET UP THERE! The place has been super buffed out with tons of work on drainage and trail flow. Not to mention some of the newer features like the Sobe Bus Hit, a veritable work of art. Thanks, Todd! So, suffice it to say that the place is going off. Get up there as soon as you can. You won't be disappointed.

One of many sweet routes down the slopes at Bolton is to start from summit on Coleslaw, traverse to the Waterfall Gap, rip it then traverse to Little Rock via the Little Rock traverse trail, rip the Little Rock and descend from there via trail 7 to the baselodge.

I can't believe nobody has reviewed Bolton since 2005! Let me just begin by saying GET UP THERE! The place is going off. Todd et al have really dialed in the trail network over the past few seasons. Tons of trail management has happened, and as a result the mountain is riding super flowy and dry like never before. Not to mention some of the newer features such as the SobeBus hit. What a work of art! Thanks Todd. So, in short i'd have to say Get UP THERE asap so you can check it out for yourself.

One of many incredible routes on the mountain, but a favorite of mine is to begin off the summit on Coleslaw, traverse to rip the Waterfall Gap, traverse from there via the Little Rock Traverse, rip Little Rock and descend to the base via trail 7. Super fun.

I can't believe nobody has written a review since 2005! Well, let me just say briefly that alot has happened up at Bolton since then. The place is OFF THE CHARTS! GET UP THERE! Tons of new features, tons of new trail work/management. Alot of nasty wet and rooty sections have been dealt with recently. The place is flowing like never before. And not to mention some new recent lines, and the beautifully crafted Sobe-Bus Hit (thanks Todd for your artistic eye!) The parking lot scene is awesoom to boot, with lots of people chillin' with barby grills, etc. I would summarize in three words: GET UP THERE!

Customer Service

A nice tour, and perhaps the route of a "Super B" race in the future is to rip Cole Slaw off the summit, traverse to the Waterfall Gap, rip it then traverse over to the LITTLE Rock Hit, hit it then descend trail 7 to base area, where there are cold beers waiting in the Cafe.

You will enjoy all the tours on the mountain. But just a little warning: when Todd labels a trail a double black diamond, you better respect it.

Bolton Valley just plain kicks ass. This is the absolute best downhill riding in VT. Every trail we rode was awesome. I had more fun here than any of the other ski resorts I've ridden. Its a shame they are only open one weekend a month. The natural steepness and terrain was amazing and the built stunts were great. In my opinion Killington and Mt Snow don't even come close to what Bolton Valley has to offer. I'll say it again, Bolton Valley is the BEST downhill riding VT has to offer period. I can't wait to get there again. Too bad its a 6hr drive for me, but worth every minute.

Customer Service

Trails 2, 5, and 6 were probably my favorites. #2 has some nice man made stunts. I can't remember if it was 5 or 6, but one of them has a sweet bridge drop about 8ft or so tall that drops out over a small stream to little bit of a transition landing. It really don't matter much which trail you ride there, because they were all challenging. You definately gotta have the skills to pay the bills to ride Bolton Valley.

This place is unbelievably fun! So many different DH runs, well made stunts, jumps, everything you want, just go. It's only open the first weekend of the month from July - October, but I'm sure the more people come the more they'll be willing to open this place.

Customer Service

All the trails are great, I really like the new coleslaw trail.

These trails RIP!!!!! Todd and the boys have put some serious effort into them and although they are rugged/new, the area has super potential for expansion. If you want nasty tech steep, OUTLAW WOODS, if you want fast descent, rip the LIFTLINE and hit the natural airs all the way down. Bolton will be open in the SUMMER OF 2004 for the first full weekend of every month and its worth the trip. Come out and support this place and don't pay attention to the other nasty reviews. I have ridden in places all over the country and these trails rip for freeride and downhill and XC, although teh xc is a bit nasty. Lots of stunts with more to come. Hope to see you there!!!!!! RIDE VT!!!!

I rode this mountain with a few friends on Labor day 2000. There were no other riders there. They had to fire up the lift for us. The weather was gloomy so we had to unload at the midstation. No problem, this place had some great singletrack and I'm sure we only scratched the surface. Fast forward to Sept. 7,2003. The Vermont Freeride Weekend. This place has been transformed. Much more technical singletrack like "Outlaw" from the summit. All kinds of new stunts, jumps and bridges. The 30'log ride is sweet. The Vermont Freeriders know how to build stunts!! The trails are numbered and are posted for difficulty. I love the double skull rating. I was very impressed with the riding here. I love Mt. Snow for the NORBAS but if you wanna ride this is the place to go. Great for freeriders and downhillers. I am from MASS but would not have a problem daytripping and hopefully they will open this mountain for more riding next season. Hey, why let all those great stunts go to waste! E-mail em' to let em' know we want more riding! Live to Ride!!
