This is now a very ice trail for MTB's. I used to ride this on my dirt bike but that's not allowed anymore. The deep ruts have been worked out and the big climbs have been removed so it's a lot easier to ride now. It is a little more technical and difficult (climbs) than Old Post Park but I imagine most all riders can ride it. Most riders ride it in the clockwise direction, it's is easier to ride this way. But if you want more climbs the riding it counter clockwise will suit your needs. Give it a try, I think you enjoy it.

During the Winter of 2013/2014, some kind volunteers did a lot of work and maintenance on this trail. Sweet Spot has great views, awesome downhill sections and some really nice climbs. It's a bit more technical than the trails at Old Post, but nothing a novice couldn't handle. Did I mention the view? It's wonderful. Do yourself a favor and give the Sweet Spot a ride. You won't be disappointed.

Customer Service

I enjoy riding counter-clockwise, but Doug from Chain Reaction says clockwise is the way to go. To each their own. ;)

This trail is no longer in use at this time (2012) and has been OOS for several years now. It WAS a great techincally challenging trail when it was still accessible.

Unless you want to walk up incredibly steep hills that only motocross guys can get up on their bikes than dont go here. The ruts are so big that your pedals will hit the side of the trails and half the time your walking because of the ruts. If it were not for these ruts than this trail would be freakin sweet because the downhill parts are so steep that you get some serious speed, but alas the ruts make it impossible to go down any of the hills.

Prpeare to get clay in your tires and ride in some ruts. This trail has gone downhill in recent years but is still a decent place for beginners.

I've ridden this trail twice and it rocked both times. I don't know if it had to do with the fact that it had just previously rained or what but it rocked. I had a lot of fun both times. There are some awesome up and down hills and plenty of mud puddles (mud puddles make a ride). It's a good exercise ride. You have to be careful because I heard that it is also used by motorcylcles and maybe it's just me but man can they fly by. I give this trail 3 stars because I don't have much to compare it to.

The Spadra Creek nature trail in Clarksville is also a lot of fun. Not as difficult but fun none-the-less.

There are also many other trails in this area of Arkansas. There are several trails off of Shepard Drive in Russellville. There is Moccassin Gap up highway 7 approximately 30 minutes form Russellville. This is actually a Horse trail but is also a fun MTB ride.

Customer Service

Haven't ridden it yet but would like to add there is one decent bike shop in Russellville on hwy 7 north(aka North Arkansas Ave.) They carry Fisher, GT, Etc.

This is a great trail, especially considering its only about 3 minutes from Russellville. It is full of up and down hills both, No real long hills but what hills it has are fairly step and will give you a work out. The only bad thing about it is that it tends to get really muddy and sloppy after a good rain, especially around the shale piles. I am giving it a rating of 4 for being so close to town and its ability to give you a great workout.

There are a couple of trails in the area, there are the trails off shepard drive on the power lines, and right next to that at Old Post Park the Corps of Engineers has built a 3 mile trail that is accessable from the caudle overlook parking lot, its a fun trail, nothing really technical about it, just fast.

This is a good trail to get some cardio work in, the hills aren't overwhelming and the downhills are fun. Not a real big trail but fun non the less. I had to share the trail with a bunch of motocross guys, but they were pretty friendly and slowed down when they came by me. I am giving this trail a three, its okay but could be better, also having to share with motorcycles just isn't my cup of tea.
