Little Blakely is a solid trail. It was very primitive and could use some trail work, but that may have added to the fun a but. There's quite a bit of ledges and rocks, so skip this trail if you're not comfortable with both. My biggest complaint would be is it's very difficult to find. Make sure you have solid directions before heading out.

Customer Service

We road counter-clockwise. The trail system is like a clover with 5 attaching leafs.

The Little Blakely is a bit technical and has some challenging ascents, but well worth the ride. Eat your wheaties and expect a good workout. This is one of the better trails in the state and is being improved all the time.

This trail is very overgrown, my face is scratched everywhere and I ruined a pair of lenses. There is a 3 MILE!!! section of hike a bike. No way to ride this, it should not even be advertised as a mountain bike trail. It was getting dark and I thought I wouldn't make it back to my vehicle. There are some very steep descents that caused me to end over the handlebars twice. If you make a mistake on the bench cut trail you are going to slide into Lake Ouachita. Thanks to whoever built the trail, and I am appreciative of all those that maintain the trails with their free time, but this is the worst trail I have ever ridden.

Part of this trail is awesome. DO NOT go to Rockledge top and expect to ride it. HIKE only. Big boulders.. you have carry your bike out. The rest of the trail looked like almost no one rides them. Remote and we saw no other bikers all day on holiday weekend.
Expect to climb a lot. Nice views and shaded.

Technical, challenging, one - of - a kind. The below review WAS right on the money but, with the concentrated effort of the locals it is once again good to go. Five days of cutting trees and re-benching some damaged tread L.B. is back to old form. This trail is not for beginners. It is a narrow benched, rocky, and physically challengeing trail that is a blast to ride. The lake views are awesome. The good canopy might make this a good summer refuge, which is rare in this area, and the close proximity to the lake wouldnt hurt either. Ride until you get hot slide down the hill, and go for a swim. Check it out!!!!

Customer Service

Counter - clockwise is the route around the outer loop is what was cleared during the winter work days.

words cannot describe our disappointment with this trail. given the plethora of excellent trails in central arkansas the little blakely does not deserve a very high rating. it has not been maintained in 2 years and is very overgrown. additionally, the large amount severe weather over the recent year has peppered the trail with downed trees. the first mile alone has at least 8 down trees that obstruct completely. its one of those strange trails that seems to always ascend. the downhills are short and unsatisfying. the trail possesses potential but it would require renewed interest, frequent riding to combat overgrowth, and some dedicated maintenance. with the womble, ouachita vista, and cedarglades nearby this is the one to avoid. lastly, given that it has so little traffic its not a trail youd want to ride alone - if you were hurt its unlikely that someone will cycle by and save your ass.

Rode this trail one on 4/18/07. Great trail but the back side of the North Loop is kind of tedious with alot of dismounts. Also - DO NOT do the Rocky Ridge Loop (points D to C) - it is covered in rocks that make you hike your bike unless you are good at trials riding! Very frustrating. Also, bottom of South Loop (C to B) may not be great for bikes - mainly for hikers - due to off camber and twisty, according to my wife who hiked it.
Not too hard to get too - go to Lake Ouchita State Park (about 20 min from Hot Springs) and then proceed through park to the right once you see the lake. The road then turns to gravel. Take the first left (there is a 'small' sign pointing to the trails) and go to the end about 5-10 minutes. There is a campsite at the end on the lake, trail starts to your right after crossing a small foot bridge.

Trail is normally a great ride but due to a couple of ice storms and a controlled burn by the U.S. Forest Service there is a lot of dead timber on the trail. The combination of the dead timber and overgrowth has made this trail nearly unrideable unless it is late fall or winter. Until the Forest Service finds it within their budget to clean up the downed timber that is on the trail and caused for the most part by their controlled burn, I would skip this trail and go to Cedar Glades or Womble.

Customer Service

Counter-clockwise doing Morgan Hollow followed by the South Loop.

Mostly single track, w/ some double track forest/fire roads. South loop is great, bench singletrack that winds around Lake Ouachita. Many switchbacks on lake fingers. Don't go over the edge, you'll end up in the lake. Great singletrack, some rocks. North loop similar, but not as scenic. Skip the other loops, they're overgrown. rode here once after they Rx burned, and had a little trouble staying on parts of the trail; no big deal.

Customer Service

South loop for sure, but counter clockwise. North loop too.
