An easy ride if you want it or a rip roaring fire road roller coaster. Cool view to the Downs, the English Channel and the Isle of Wight (on a rare clear day). Some technical singletrack around Cissbury if you're in the mood and some nice pubs in Findon (a mile from Cissbury) if you're hungry or thirsty.

Head north up the River Adur, west along the South Downs Way until Chanctonbury Ring, South to Cissbury Ring and then East towards Lancing College

Good ride for a summers evening, or a slightly more entertaining night ride. A nice training loop to time yourself and improve on. A good choice for intermediate and expert riders with lots of options for extending or shortening the ride.

Along river Adur from Shoreham to footbrigde before Bramber, cut through to coombes road, uphill to bridleway that turns left off the road after a small climb. Follow bridleway up over a nice little hill until you reach the Bostal road. Up the road (right) then turn off at the right hand bend. Follow track until you reach Chanctunbury ring. Head towards sea on another track which should take you directly to Cissbury ring. Head back in the direction of Shoreham to take in the third ring, Lancing Ring (also known as Lancing clump). Back over the top of that and downhill all the way to Shoreham, home of numerous pubs.

If you try the runs off Cissbury ring there are some good easy-moderate fast tracks up here. If there are no walkers about the run on the bridalway across the Golf Course is really good fun, Particularly at the bottom in the forest where, if you are going fast enough you are out of control (30mph+) on rough trying to brake before the gate...
On the other side of the Ring BEWARE if the ground is damp. Its deep rutted chalk and therefore a bit slippy to put it mildly!

Eartham Wood is a Forestry Commision run wood near Fontwell, West Sussex. From the Fontwell roundabouts on the A27 head West toward Chichester. Less than a mile up the dual carriageway is a turn off to the right signposted to Eartham.

Customer Service

Start from Eartham Wood carpark and wing it from there! There are many marked routes around the wood some easy, some quite slippy, rooty, muddy and so not so easy. Nothing extreme. Excellent views from Gumber Bothy to the coast.
