DESCRIPTION

A good test for most riders, if you know the local trails. There's a lot of up's and downd as the main trail is up and over a series of peaks toppping out at nearly 600 metres above sea level. The main ridgeline is about 12 miles long and can be attacked in many ways so you could do a 24 mile round trip.
A good place to star is at the clocktower car park on the map.

I love the Malverns, you can ride them as hard as you want and push your limits or take it easy and enjoy the views.

There are plenty of trails to choose from, but you need to be wary of walkers during peak times (I prefer to do night rides when you can let rip).

Cycling the peaks of the hills is always good, and they drain well so are rideable all year round. The wooded tracks will be muddier when it's rained.

Customer Service

There are various starting points but I usually start from the Wych Cutting, take on the nice long pull up to the Worcestershire Beacon, blast back down the Rabbit Run, and then venture either up and over the Herefordshire Beacon and around the British Camp, or drop down into the woods around the side of the hills, or both.

A good test of skill and lung power is by starting from the Clocktower and riding up the switchbacks, and then to test your nerve at the end, descend down Skull Valley, which will spit you out near the Clocktower again.

Similar Products Used:

There are some bridleway routes that can be strung together, but you'll need to link them with road sections, and are just not as much fun.

I tend to venture to Cannock Chase, The Long Mynd, or into Wales if I'm after a different fix and mountain biking.
