Grit & Gears - Trail, Macclesfield, United Kingdom

DESCRIPTION

For a map look at the website given below. There are also leaflets at the Visitors Centre. First off, I've rated this as intermediate - I've done this so as to not scare anyone off! The technically hard bits are the offroad uphill sections. These are over loose rocks with limited traction in the dry nevermind the wet and I'll take my hat off to anyone who can clean the whole ride. Having said that they are not too long and the push/lug is well worth the effort. The down bits are great fun. The scariest being the one straight out of the starting gate. The connecting road sections are quiet except a short (<0.5 mile) along the A537 itself. All in all a great ride with something for everyone. Great views and a good work out for your legs and lungs.
