Rob Roys Funeral March - TRAIL

Rob Roys Funeral March - Trail, Glasgow/Aberfoyle, United Kingdom

Harppack and lots of small rocks/shale etc. Climb to left or right seems to go on forever (like the mother in law!!) but it's well worth the 4/5 mile descent back. Take basic survival gear and lots of your own water (fresh!), and try not to do alone (not many people pass by during the cold months). If you want to do the full funeral march you'll have to hide your bike in undergrowth (not too hard1) and walk the last 2/3 miles to Balquidder (and then back to the bikes).

Good lung bursting climb, but when you get to the top (after reaching what you thought, hoped and prayed was the summit about 3 times)tis worth it, especially the view of the track way below you.

Not technical but is a serious climb. So not recommended unless you have some level of fitness, or are plain daft.

Watch out for the streans that cross the track some are deep and steep to ride through, probably worse after heavy rain
