I recommend consulting O.S. Landranger 103 Blackburn & Burnley before you go. Though my description isn't terrifically detailed, you should be able to work it out as there aren't any other bridleways avialable to take other than those above!

Customer Service

Start in Dunsop Bridge. Take the road south out of village. Take bridleway over Totrodge Fell to main Trough of Bowland road. At road turn left. After few kms turn right to go up Whins Brow and DOOOWWN Whins Fell (take care and good luck!). Make your way over Middle Knoll. Then either take (slightly) illegal trail on left hand side of river or zoom down to Dunsop Bridge on Water Authority road.

Excellent trail to take your first-time mountain bike wannabees on. Make sure your on SantaCruz Heckler or similar and theyre on fully rigid with road type gears.
Watch them bust a gut and admire the variety of obscenities whilst ascending and try not to fall of laughing as they kak it on the descent.

Customer Service

As written, except for half hour faffing in car park with gloves & mars bars before start

Get to the car park in Dunsop Bridge early as it soon fills up! Probably safer to climb Ouster Rake than go down it? The ride down Whins Brow was fun! Must do it again now I know the route. Take plenty of water with you though, if the weather is good! The uphill grassy sections were a bit slippery in the morning dew so I did push quite a bit - all good exercise!

Customer Service

did the anticlockwise circuit last week end.

any from Dunsop Bridge. The ride from Longridge Fell down to Hurst Green is a fine ride too. Gisburn Forest is good for a fast ride.
