An action packed 14 miles of fire road climbs and technical, aften rocky single track descents. Some of the best single track anywhere, including Colorado and the French Alps. The scenery is impressive with great views of the mountains, an impressive waterfall, and a couple of river crossings by (suspension) bridges.
We have riden this trail many times over the past few years. The route was curtailed after the old stone bridges were washed away last winter, but these have been replaced and just recently it has been much improved as a couple of particularily nasty rocky sections have been added. Not for lightweights.

Stunning ride that keeps making you look up at the scenery when you should be looking down at the trail. I particulary like some of the traverses valley sides that drop away from the trail. I think more consistent riding and more scenic backdrop that the Karrimor or Red Bull (though they are both still exellent)

Absolutely flippin' brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!
The old mbr was good but now all of the trails have had new sections put in and the old sections restored it's even better. I can't fault it. It has got to be one of the best routes I've ever done. If you havn't done the mbr, you havn't lived!!!!

Customer Service

All of the main mbr route but at the bottom of the pink heifer section, instead of turning right and following the mbr arrows, turn left and follow the karrimor arrows. This takes in a long and very fast decent known as big doug. Follow this singletrack until you come a tarmac forest road. This time instead of following the karrimor arrows, turn right and then right again. Follow the road until you come to Ty'n-y-groes. Go strait on past the toilets and the car park and follow the fire road and you will soon pick up the mbr trail again.

Quite a bit of uphill, mainly on fire roads, but its worth it!! the downhills single tracks are absolutly stunning, especially the Pink Heifer. There fast, technical and simply amazing. You don't have to be incredably fit to cope with the uphills, but a bit of downhill experience is useful as the downhills sections are fairly hard. Make sure you bikes in good condition, mine wasn't and i had a few problems!!
