leckhampton daisy bank road - TRAIL

leckhampton daisy bank road - Trail, Cheltenham, United Kingdom

good mixx of XC and DH, but alot more DH, some VERY technical trails and some not so, large jumps known as the quary jumps, 10 - 15 foot distiance and also as high to some any level of rider can do. possibly as many as 10 diffrent Dh trails from 2-3 mins to do to less then 15-40 seconds, there are also 30 foot hip jumps and 10 foot ski style jump, if possible to get to it is a great place to ride for any ablity, however to do the more technical trails it will require sutible bikes and armour depending on trails, if going ahead to walk the trails it is not a good idea to walk the trails, as a few dog walkers have been hit by riders as they were on trails that where obviosly being used regualy, which i have had a bad crash due to a walker by avioding him so keep on your gard while ridding

I think that Leckhampton also known as 'Lecki' is a really good place to ride! There are some Quite hard trails but also some more easy trails! My favorite trail is the Main DH trail as that's the 1st ever 1 i went on up Lecki! If you like jumps they quarry jumps is the perfect place to go as they have 7 jumps altogether, (from the top of the quarry jumps down) They have 3 at the top which jump in to another 3 jumps which goes into 1 small jump at the end :)

Leckhampton is an excellent venue for DH riders there is around 10 trails of varying difficulty some of which can be linked together half way down.
Most trails are very steep , loose , rocky and rooty with one slightly flatter but faster main trail.
Jumps are all over the place with most of the easyer ones in the very bottom quarry at the car park apart from the big hip jump and ski launcher jump which are pretty large :).
In the next quarry up there are the bigger step down jumps which take a fairly good standard of riding to do cleanly.
Over all I would say any ability of rider could ride there but begginers could be in over their heads on some of the trails due to how very steep and loose they are.
A highly reccomended location , just take your litter home and please do not build or modify the hill in anyway as its a sight of special scientific interest.

Leckhampton is an exellent venue for DH riders there is some thing for every one there , around 10 trails some of which u can link up to make even more combinations , most of a very technical and very steep nature with lots of rock, roots and loose surface rock to keep you drifing.
Also lots of jumps all over the place with most of the easyer ones at the very bottom quarryed area near the car park , other then the 30ft hip and stepdown/ski jump which can be pretty large , and the more advanced stuff in the next quarry up.
I would say its OK for all levels of riders but for begginers it could be very technically demanding.

Highly reccomended one of my favourite riding spots.

one other thing , please take your litter home and do not build or modify any of the tracks as leckhampton is a sight of special scientific intrest and things like unofficial jumps/tracks could see us loosing our rights to the hill.
