Perry Woods - TRAIL

Perry Woods - Trail, Canterbury / Chilham, United Kingdom

There's a lot of drop-ins ranging from small to insane. There's a few jumps ranging from doubles to vert's. There's a good selection of trails dotted around the main crater - get someone to show you these. If you go up on a Sunday there will almost definately be someone else there. For any skill level but hardcore bikes, hardtails or downhill bikes, are useful.

erm, i used to go here every week, but since then it has turned really rubbish!!! it is a good place to begin, and is still good for a laugh now and then. but i would still rather mission it down to a better trail!

Customer Service

from the train station at selling, go out of the road and turn left. follow that and take (i think) the third left. (its right on top of a small hill) carry on that road untill you reach a cross roads. go over, then right into the woods...

perry is a good place to go to test yourself. it goes from small jumps to a whip ass double and a sort of medium drop. after a few times it does get a bit boaring coz u can do everything. its great for going down with a group of mates and going mental for a day.

Customer Service

i get the train from margate station and then change at faversham to a train to selling. then out of the station up the road and then left at the pub and just follow the road up and you will see it posted.

Brilliant riding and even better at weekends when there's loads of people there. The woods dry fast after rain so don't let that put you off! Bring along your hardtail or downhiller and you will have a laugh.

Customer Service

Ride everything; the drops, the jumps and the trails.

The Godfather   [Mar 21, 2000]

The Godfather and Mad Dog Monaghan hit the woods - and blew 'em all away!
Well, that is if you count a couple of coffin dodgers walking their equally senile pooch. Turn up at the weekend boys and you are sure to meet up with scores of like-minded souls. But ride in the week and you'll have the whole place to yourself.
To be honest, it's safer to avoid the busy times cos Perry Woods is a magnet for the world, his wife and their little treasures at the weekend.
Yet in the week you can blast away to your heart's content safe in the knowledge that little Johnny is not on a collision course with Mr Front Forks.
The Wasters are new to downhill and dirt but still managed to get airborne in the main crater area. Now we're not talking big air here but all the same it was alot of fun. The trails are pretty good too with some full-on descents that will set yer hair on fire.
All in all, a good crack, even for us thirtysomethings - just watch out for Mum, Dad, gramps, Gnasher and the little darlings. Bless 'em.

Customer Service

Not far from a wicked boozer - the rest is a bit of a haze.

Perry woods is great for someone who wants to try a bit of everything, theres a few jumps which range in size. The grounds soft but firm enough to ride easily on and doesnt cut you up if ya bail. Theres a couple of small trails which are good for begginers but experts can take the trails which lead off into the woods around it.Theres some good drop offs which range from easy to mad. Theres also loads of hidden stuff at the top (up hill) Theres always a few people there and always a bunch of loud hyperactive 4 year olds running up over the jumps and off the drop offs! I agree with roberjay_X this place is pretty good for a full day of madness.

Customer Service

Get the train to selling, you might wanna go via faversham, then leave the station and head left past the pub, then go up hill past one turn off then take the next left which should take you down to Perry Wood house and then the road turns right with thick bushes around it. Head up the hill until you come to a turning left, head about 20 feet up more and head past the gate and your in

There are a few classy drops, each ranging from lame to extreme. A good range of well built jumps are here, including two pairs of doubles. (one of which is built up by me and Roberjay-X-!!!) The ground is soft and covered with pine leaves and soft crud,so bails are extreme good! Remember, always wear a beanie.

Customer Service

Definately the trails that lead around the woods and connect with the centre of the jump spots.

Perry Woods is my local riding area, and I rekon it is bloody excellent, and I would recomend it to anyone who has enough skill to pull off most of the jumps (or all of them). It is suitable for a wide range of ages, but they really do need to know what they're doing. It is a good idea if you go there often, because the ramps and jumps are often being modified.
