Start off going towards the castle. If you can get up this section of steep rocky track (without putting your foot down) you've done well. Some nice riding along wide bridle paths over the moor tops (ride this in the morning mist for the best time). Descend on some fast stony tracks (careful not to fall into the quarry!) Ascend to Rushupp edge either along a steep gnarly farm track or the easier (but steeper) road section. Once on the Edge itself the views are tremendous. You will meet walkers on this section so beware. Nice climbs and fast rocky descents, steadily climbing . You can cap it off by a ride to the top of MAM TOR (very hard) but the descent is worth it (again watch out for walkers!) down and back to Castleton. Should take 3-5 hours depending on skill, weather & pace. Only ever ridden it in the Summer. Make sure you take some warm clothes and waterproofs as the weather can change quickly. BOTTOM LINE : Customer Service For Intermediates don't try the Jacob'S Ladder extension. It is very mean and harsh on you and your bike. Gor for the short ride along Rushupp Edge, splendid views and some great decending, some part are extremely technical Similar Products Used: Just get the appropriate 1:250000 OS map and make your own trails, There are many miles of Bridle Path in the White Peak area |

See MBUK, MBR etc back issues also in guide books Customer Service Start in Edale, head up Jacob's ladder to edale cross, down to coldwell clough, then back up to mount famine, and then to rushup edge and mam tor. Back to Edale via Hollins Cross. Similar Products Used: Edale is, generally speaking, the dogs bollocks for ace routes. Bet you all wish you lived in Sheffield like me. |

Having ridden this both ways, the slog up to Mam Tor at the end is well compensated by jumping down the rock steps at the back of Rushop at speed and the final descent from Hollins Cross. Great ride, I keep going back for more!! Customer Service From Edale Up onto Hollins Cross, over Mam Tor, along Rushop Edge, on road past Rushop Hall to Whitelee, bear right at Eldon Hill Quarries into Cave Dale then Castleton, long grind up the old road onto Mam Tor (good for lungs!!) then back down from Hollins Cross Similar Products Used: Too many to metion |

The down hill from the top of rushup edge along the bedrock strem bed is superb, one of my all time favourite down hills. Customer Service Rushop Edge Similar Products Used: From Hope, up Mam tor, along rushup edge, follow Goy Clough down to Hayfield, up and over Jacobs Ladder then down Edale Valley. Take BW off to left and climb up onto hill between Ladybower and edale valley. Then follows a rip roaring down hill to Hope and the cafe. |

However you get to it? take the road route from the top of Mam Tor / Rushup Edge down into Edale. Overtaking cars at 50mph on knobblies is a serious buzz! You'll remember those drivers faces for years. Customer Service Mam Tor. |
