Rijk van Nijmegen - TRAIL

Rijk van Nijmegen - Trail, Nijmegen, Holland, Europe

The green route is a conditienal track whit nice hills. The red track is a spice of the Topcompetition route in Groesbeek. It's a very technical track whit very diffecult hills.

The trail is extra difficult on rainy days. Hardly any grip on some parts.

These are great routes, both for beginners and intermediate bikers. The longest one is for the faster biker, because it has only 1 or 2 nice climbs. The other has nice climbs and downhills and the scenery is great.

Customer Service

Park at the parkingplace at the north of the trails (it's a great startingpoint)

The green route is not very technical. Very fast though. IMHO a great way to improve your shape. The red route is a bit more difficult, but even a beginner could ride this route (with care). Not nearly as difficult as my very secret Beekbergen single track....
All the tracks are well laid-out and taken care of though!

Customer Service

Park at Tivoli in Berg en Dal, have a quick road warm-up and take the steep clim into the green route...

We allways start from the parking place at Plasmolen. If you do this, you need to add around 10 km to the route, which starts with some long climbs. For a beginner this can be very demanding. The route leads you through the forrest on mainly fire roads with some single track but not much. You cross a few footpaths and some main roads, so you have to be carefull for walkers. We missed one marker a few times, we don't even know if it's really there. The rest of the route is very well marked. The route is not very technical but more of a general cross country ride with some nice scenery and places to sit down and have some lunch. Most of the time the route is dry and even after a rainy week there is little mud. There is some sandy areas but not much, some of the route involves riding on tarmac. Overall, a very nice route for a sunday afternoon. Challenging for a beginner, a nice runaround for everybody else. At the Plasmolen startingpoint there is a nice terrace to sit and relax after your ride with something to eat and drink. Routemaps are available at the hotel upon crossing the main road.

We have only ridden the red route so we don't know the green one yet.

The routes are mostly single-track. Enjoy the view at the "Mookerheide" and the "Jachtslot Mookerheide"

Customer Service

Start the green route near McDonalds on the Rijksweg to warm up a bit. After you have completed the long downhill path, change to the red route for a long steep climb.
